The last several hours consisted of a thorough review and examination by his new rehabilitation doctors, specialists and physical therapists.
Ed will be going through some very intense physical therapy for the next 10 to 14 days with a minimum of 3 hours per day. He may become quite fatigued. He will also be taught how to get himself in and out of bed and into a chair without using his legs. Ed is not allowed to bear his full body weight on his legs for at least eight weeks.
Ed is very tired and is getting adjusted to the new rehab facility.
This is a great rehab facility. "Care Partners" actually provides a room that both Ed and Connie can stay together for his extended rehabilitation. Connie has been at his bed side almost constantly since her arrival early Friday last week.
For now, please respect the family wishes and give the family space, as Ed progresses through his intense rehabilitation phase.
I was not able to get a definite answer today on any mail that members may have sent to Mission Hospital previously. So Lola, Gary and any others, please consider resending. I will keep trying to get an answer from Mission Hospital.
I will not be visiting Ed until the family or the rehab facility decides visits are ok. I will be receiving updates from his daughter, Kelly, that I will pass on to the Trike Talk Family. I did not get a chance to speak to Ed about going on line to chat with us. I will wait until I am allowed to visit again.
In the meantime, the family greatly appreciates the thoughts and prayers from the Trike Talk Family.
Ed's family sends sincere thanks to The Trike Family for plans to initiate a GO FUND ME page link.
Ed's family will be posting a GO FUND ME PAGE on a yet to be determined social media site. At that time, we will provide a link to that page.
