I don't care for bikes that a bobbed and this BRP's version. But kids will probably like it and I think that's the target anyway.

I've looked it over and would definitely consider it as a first trike, not having a spare $25k to lay down on a used GW trike, for example.

600cc twin or 900cc triple Rotax should give fairly decent performance. CVT transmission similar to my Honda Silverwing and shaft drive.

You can get accessories for it which include bags, topbox, alternate seat, windshield. I did an online build with those things and the 900cc motor; came out less than $12k. If you swap in the 600cc motor with the same accessories, right around $10k,

There's an all-road version (more $$ of course).

Not a lot of bells and whistles. I'm OK with that.

I'm a function over form kinda guy, so looks are of secondary importance to me. That said, not exactly the most handsome design out there.

Definitely sonething to consider when I make the switch.

Bob, probably lots of lurkers out there just like you where this Ryker is gonna be a good fit. Add the accessories over time as it works for the budget, I gotta go back to the web site, I didn't notice the size of the Rotax engine.

An option is hard saddle bags and a hard tail bag......Too soon to tell but Can'am might have it a home run with the sport crowd , Thats the crowd that Harley was shooting for with the street line of bikes..500/750 cc] and missed...

Here's a link to a 1st. look review. Personally, I would have to go with the big engine. I like the auto tranny with reverse. The Rally edition is calling me.

I really like the driveshaft part. We travel too many gravel roads to trust a belt with.

Went by our local CanAm dealer (NorCal) and spoke with a sales guy. They're expecting the Ryker in February. They had a 600cc test unit at the dealership several weeks ago. Sales guy said the 600cc engine had a surprising amount of power, but for folks of my size, the 900cc engine would be better. He said that the Ryker's seating position is different from the Spyder because you actually sit down in the Ryker, rather than on it. He also confirmed with a service guy that both engines have hydraulic lifters, therefore no valve adjustments ever. He gave me a catalog and mentioned that CanAm runs a Spyder training course here locally. Looks like it might be worthwhile, so I might take it.
