My understanding the only change for 2011 will be the addition of a light blue color. Having said that, if that is the only change why did they stop production in July, unless there was no demand. I think there are much bigger problems like no more Ford drivetrains being available, (The Ranger is history this year). If so, maybe they could put a Mazda mx5 motor and tranny in the Stallion. That would be lovely. Sure would be nice for those with Stallions on order to hear something from TBMS. I sent TBMS an email 2 weeks ago asking about the new Stallion release date. No answer!!!

Yes, these are some very valid questions. Let me start by saying I am very interested in purchasing a Stallion and I can actually pay for it. That being said, I either like burning money or I am frugal and know how to give things appropriate consideration before making a purchase. You can decide after reading this post.

I am also concerned about Ford discontinuing the Ranger in North America. I am also concerned about Ford dealerships giving many Stallion owners a ration of grief when it comes to working on the Stallion. I suspect many potential customers are likewise concerned. I'm also a bit concerned about the posts I read that say "TBMS will take care of it". And I'm concerned about the "nonrefundable" deposit that the local Stallion dealer demands before taking an order. Hmmm.

The "TBMS will take care of it" posts are IMHO a form of "drinking the kool aid", rather like "I can only ride a Harley, man." I'm a bit nervous about that kind of thinking and/or perception. Every company has muck ups and to stick one's head in the sand shows a disregard for reality. If I just offended you, I will gladly buy you a drink or coffee someday if we have the chance to meet.

I went to a Gold Wing in 2003 after riding HD for over 15 years. Why? I didn't want the MoCo problems. I put a Lehman kit on my Wing in 2008 because I wanted ("flame suit" on) what I believed was the best trike kit available. I am comfortable with the visual impact of the Stallion and whole Stallion idea, so I would like to buy one. I am having anxiety, though, based in part on what I read on this site. The quoted post above is an exemple. I don't want a bunch of hassles, a bunch of problems. After having my Wing triked in 2008, the Las Vegas Lehman dealer closed. Lucky me. The poor substitute servicing operation in Vegas is...mediorcre at best. I don't want to face that should TBMS got belly up on the Stallion.

$35K (the price of a Stallion with accessories) is a piece of change. My question to TBMS would be this: when are you going to man up? Or tirke up if you prefer and tell your customers or future customers what's going on? When are you going to address the problems with Ford dealerships?

Wow........ It sounds like a Stallion may not be your cup of tea.

You are right, they are $30k+ or $27k for a used one. Their has always been a non-refundable deposit since the first bikes were sold. The dealerships will be fixing Ranger engines for the next 15+ years, and although it is a Ranger engine, it is a standard Ford power equipment crate engine. You may want to talk to Ford Motor Co. and ask them how long they will offer this engine. I am only guessing that they will be offering it for quite some time since this engine is the powerplant of a lot of equipment (not just Stallions).

As far as the Service from Ford Dealers....They are all independently owned and operated, and as such they don't have to do what a third party company like TBMS wants it to. It is hit or miss, but TBMS does what they can to make it easy for you to get service. Some people (like me) have had great experences with the Ford dealer, others have not. You may want to ask your local dealer before making up your mind.

TBMS has nver been very open about very much. That's OK, if you like their trikes, you buy them, if not you don't. If you are looking for a trike that never breaks down, or has the minimal amount of problems thier are others out there that are based on a motor and other systems that have been masss produced in the millions. With such volume, you have an engine, and other systems that have had all the bugs worked out, and a network of many more service dealers.

I belive their are less than 1,000 stallion owners. Many drive them for that reason, they don't want a mass produced, they all look alike, everyone has one trike.

From my point of view, that is the trade off. Sometimes you cannot have your cake and eat it too.

I will speak to the non refundable deposit.

My dealer strikes that out, she has never had one stay on her floor room more that a week or so it was no big deal to her. You do pay a deposit to hold a trike, but most dealers if you talked to them would admit moving a Stallion is no big deal, and for a valind reason your backed out keeping your money is not necessary.

Getting financing is the big deal these days if you have cash and can prove it, them will work with you.

Keeing a Stallion maintained is no big deal, look at the total number on the board, and only a few have problems and it those you hear from.
