Goo be Gone.......Works great without any scraping if you are patient and let it soak in then wipe it and repeat....And as an extra added bonus you pipes will have an orangey aroma .....Originally Posted by jc1300

I know Easy Off oven cleaner works like magic on boot heels and I bet it will do the same on nylon. Spray it on at night and in the morning just wipe it off with a soft cloth. I know back in the day they said to use Easy Off Cold Oven version, but I can only find the regular oven cleaner now days. Still works.

Da Goo did the trick - Had to use multiple applications - Let it sit - Rub - Again - Rub....actually made the shields look pretty again! Thanks

Wish I'd have known this 10+ years ago, before using WD40 on the Python's for my T-Sport. As a side note .... Frog Toggs sells heat shields that work very well. I wasn't wild about the glue they send, so, I used it and then sewed the edges down. Never burned the rain suit again.
I used easy off heavy duty oven cleaner on a spot that was over a year old. Start bike and let it get good and hot. Spray on pipe and let it sit being careful not to get any oven cleaner on painted parts. I used an old credit card to scrape loose material and 0000 steel wool on a stubborn spot. This was on chrome pipes. Looks like new now.
I use hot iron cleaner, either Faultless or Rowenta. Just let the pipes get hot, dab a little on a terrycloth rag and wipe it off. I find the tube convenient and it doesn't get where it's not needed.

I put a big glob of Gojo and let it sit for a bit. I don't know if it's the orange in it or not but it's worked every time. Repeat if needed.

I wouldn't use it on those black exhausts but then you wouldn't see burned stuff anyway I guess. But chrome it seems to do great on and it's what I got. I just keep wiping it off and putting more on until it melts away.The citrus in the orange eats up just about everything

***** Yepper. I delivered 4 new Mack tractors to the the U.S. Postal Service in Fort Worth,Tx.While I was gettin the trucks checked in a shop guy was taking graffiti off those goofy step vans they use and was doin it with Easy Off.Used it to take melted rubber boot heel off the rear goose neck on my Superglide.My "date" thought it was a niffty place to rest her boot instead of the pegs.Had the the nerve to blame me for ruining her boot.Never took her riding again.
