Question on linked brakes - not sure of what stopping power to expect. When I apply the foot brake and then apply the front brake, the addition of the front makes a huge difference in. Is that the way linked brakes are supposed to work? I was expecting manually applying the front brake would not do much because they should be already working. Make sense? Overthinking?

It is my understanding the linked brakes work off the rear brake pedal, this splits the front calipers to actuate the middle pistons or @ about 30 percent of front braking So grabbing a handful of front brake will complete the front brake circuit

That's the way I understand it & I think it works great.

Make sure all 3 master cylinders gets flushed. (Both brakes & clutch). It's very important.
