    Default Rear Brake reservoir 98 GW Motortrike where is it?

    OK I have nothing when I step on the pedal for the rears. The Shop manual says the reservoir is next to the battery but it's not there.I got no paperwork with this when I bought it so I'm playing hide and seek. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

    Oh yeah no rear brakes when I bought it.

    Rear brake reservoir should be located to the rear of the battery.

    Remove the right side cover.

    The lid is kinda hard to get to though.

    The GL1500 has linked brakes so you will also have to bleed the left front caliper after bleeding the rear system, provided the original converter didn't disconnect or eliminate the link to front system from the rear.

    Yup. I know all that, see my picture to clear up the misconception. I now have a trike body covering that spot.

    Why do I have the feeling if you remove the battery it is hiding behind it. The flat metal plate along side the battery in the second pic gives me a hint.

    I was thinking that plate was structural as it is 1/4 inch thick. I was going to pull the battery today but seeing the battery box stopped me. I'll look back there tomorrow. When I find it I'll post a picture..

    They just pointed out where it's at, not that reaching it will be easy. It should be easier if battery is set aside as stated though.

    Can't you just follow the rubber line up from the master cylinder. It should end at the reservoir. I know sounds simple but with all the crap in the way maybe it isn't. Just a thought.

    Based on the pictures you've got an oldie there. Was way before my time with the company, but on ones that old, they relocated the reservoir to the empty area where the rear tire for the motorcycle used to reside (above the differential). Why they did that I don't have any idea, but the easiest way is to either chase the bracket or follow the reservoir tube to the location.

    I'd be lying if I said it was a fun location to get to in order to add fluid, flush, or bleed your brakes. Down side is moving it back behind the battery on an already built trike would be a pain as well & would likely get air in the system & force you to flush the entire system whether you wanted to or not

    Unbolt the reservoir and swing it out.
