Trike jacking

I've read so many stories about improper jacking causing serious problems so I thought I'd ask first: can you jack up one wheel, similar to what you do on a car to change tires. All the info I've seen is both wheels being jacked up at the same time.

Also, I'm going to take the body off to clean the frame, ect.

I know the finish is powder coated which is a durable finish but was wondering if there's something else I can do for further protection.

Wax is OK but doesn't last very long so I was wondering if there's something else I can use.

My $.02,

Never tried just lifting one rear wheel! I always raised both and set the trike down on jack stands.

Really did this, at times, so I could remove the rear wheels to thoroughly clean/wax them. This also allowed sufficient access to clean that part of the trike without having to remove the body.

Washed under that area by spraying everything with a 50/50 mix of water and Mean Green. Then rinsed with water(garden hose), then dried with the leaf blower. Amazingly clean and no worries of damage trying to R&R the body.

The jacking points for the front & rear are pictured in the owners manual. once you get the back end up you can use 2 jack stands to support it. It you look at the end of this thread or use search, there are several threads on jacking the trike.

Not sure about the frame question, but if I was that concerned, I would either ceramic coat the painted parts of the frame or coat it with some canned undercoating spray.

Good luck. I have a black Freewheeler & I have enough problems keeping the paint you can see clean, I have not worried about the underbelly yet. When I jack it & remove the wheels to bleed the rear brakes, I may wipe it down then.

Both my tri-glides I would jack it up from one side Placeing a jack at the tow hook under the shock absorbers. I took the wheels off so to rattle can paint them..📞
