clutch recall

I have a 2013 TG that was not affected by the recall, but I also have a 2018 Limited that was. When I checked with the dealer I was #89 on the list, math told me that I could not expect to be called until late summer as the dealer is only getting 2 to 3 kits per week and has not received any in 10 days.

I learned of the Aim company located in CA https://aim-tamachi.com/. Purchased one had it installed along with the Oberon adjustable clutch lever https://www.hardcaseperformance.com/levers/oberon-adjustable-clutch-levers and to me it was the best thing I have ever installed on my bike. With the new larger piston slave cylinder I can pull the clutch lever in with one finger and with the Oberon adjustment in position #3, I can get the clutch to engage less than an inch from the grip.

There is a downside and that is the cost, the clutch cylinder was $280 and the Oberon was $135. BUT being a 71 year old rider and owning many different Harleys over the past 30 years with an adjustable cable clutch I had a tremendous dislike for Harley's engagement point of their Hydraulic clutches. Now I have the best of all worlds!

I just had my Tri-Glide recall install this past week. Haven't had a chance to try it out, due to the crappy weather here in Iowa. The dealer said they had about 30-40 kits in stock. They picked it up, and delivered back when it was finished. No charge for the pick-up-delivering.

Oh, Gee, It's snowing again.

I have stopped at my dealer once a month to check in regarding clutch recall since letters where sent its already May and no luck yet my dealer advised me there only getting 2 kits a month and my name is on page 3 of a very long list I just don't get how Harley can issue a recall with no parts or should I say hardly any parts to repair these touring bikes I am annoyed that I spent $40K on a trike that I cant enjoy without worrying about it breaking down somewhere stupid on Harleys part no wonder why there sales are in the dumpster I wish I knew about this issue somehow I never would have purchased it I don't mind recalls but this one is horrible I got a $40K FLOWER POT

I don't blame you for being upset. My dealer had no problem getting the replacement part.

No one I know has had to wait for more than a week for the part.

Sometimes I beleive the dealers are just not trying, there is more money to be made servicing bikes than doing recalls. Cant jack the price on the MOCO.

I was in my dealer today .. they said their list was gone in about 3 weeks. I would maybe check another dealer, you have no obligation to go to the purchasing dealer.

I agree with you guys I might go to another dealer I hate doing that cause I am old school and like supporting local vendors but this is insane and whats more insane I went to speak to my salesman about it to see if he could do anything and I had to wait 20mins to speak to him cause he was in the middle of a sale of an electric bicycle WTF! a bicycle in a Harley dealership is that how bad Harley is doing that they have to sell bicycles now it was insane there was bicycles line up next to fat boys street glides soft tails soon we are gonna see Harley tee shirts with electric bicycles printed on them instead of motorcycles whoever is running the company should be fired where is Willy G. LOL

I understand you being old school, but that doesn't mean putting up with bad service.

I had my FW clutch recall don't the 2nd. week of November last year. I would definitely go elsewhere.
