That did not stop my occasional winter riding tho

You actually have the right idea here with colder weather fluid services on our rides

I got a nice 100 mile ride in today. Before that I took the seat & left side cover off to look at moving my Battery Tender

connection a little farther forward & it turned out to be easy. Mine come out at the aft end on top of the left side cover.

I just re-routed it on top of the fuses to the front end of left side cover. That gives plenty of room to plug in the Battery Tender USB plug and then a 3' charger cord up to the bars and charge the phone/GPS or charge my Cardo Bluetooth helmet set if needed. I am ready for my trip to Durango and the 4 Corners Rally Labor day weekend. I am in love with IHeartRadio's "Rock Nation" station. and my cell carrier lets me stream it or Pandora with no data usage. Very Cool.

1 other item of note. I have been checking my mpg

for the past few months & prior to replacing the spark plug wires with the DK Customs ThunderVolt 50 plug wires, my mpg prior was a consistent 39.2-39.3.

After replacement, the past 1,000 mile mpg increased to 39.8-39.9 with increased performance. I am happy.

Made a few mod additions, a backrest from Harley and fringes around the riders footboard, also the oil cooler cover.

Brake and clutch lines came in. Clutch line was 14" too long. Lol. So the bike is 95% buttoned up.

When our morning storms stop, I'm planning a ride to Doc's HD, as they are having a bike/trike show today and our own Free Bird is unveiling his FW custom trike project.

Finished up with the personal Infotainment system I put together. MTX Bluetooth Controller to a Biketronics BT 2180 amp. 6.5" Titan 2 speakers in the lowers. Dedicated charger that's hot all the time.

I went to a bike show at Doc's HD today & saw some awesome rides.

I also met TT members Free Bird & 2ndheart, who's FW is very nice.

Free Birds new ride is beyond belief and that paint job really pops in person.

I don't think I would have the patience for a custom build like that

Overall, a good day & I met 2 nice, local members who love bikes & trikes like I do.

I did try to spend some money today at my dealer. I wanted to buy a Custom Dynamics brake light modulator before my trip, but my dealer only keeps 1 in stock for trikes (model TKE) & sold it an hour before I got there.

I ordered a Custom Dynamics brake light modulator for my Freewheeler. No riding today as I am watching Cardinals Baseball & taking it easy.

I'm also starting my checklist for my Durango trip.

UPDATE: I got some good news from Cycle Gear. My light modulator should be here tomorrow, so I can install it before I leave.

I rode to one of my favorite hang-outs for lunch. I usually try to leave about 12:30 or 1:00 so I can get home before the afternoon heat starts setting in. I stayed until 2:00 and it felt like I was riding in a convection oven. I will be glad when fall gets here. This is one of the hottest and driest summers we have had around here in years. Hope it cools off some before time to head to the Kerrville meet in September.

I received my Custom Dynamics brake light modulator this afternoon from Cycle Gear. Ordered on Sunday & received on Wednesday which is pretty good and I love free/fast shipping This company has done nothing but provide excellent customer service to me. It was just too hot to mess with it today.

I still have a few more items on my checklist for the trike, but there's no hurry. I have picked up my emergency quart of fuel, good for about 9-10 miles, but hopefully I won't need it. It has a 5 year shelf life. I changed the battery in my main key fob & got the spare 1 out & will hide it somewhere. I also have a few more nuts/bolts to check.

My son arrived in Durango early yesterday & is ready for a big turnout. I'm very anxious for my 1st big rally.

Cleaning isn’t fun. But the rides were worth it.... just look at the grin on this lady’s face ...that’s what its all about!

I installed the H-D Get-A-Grip hand grips on my wife's Freewheeler today. These babys are beautiful on her trike. Feel good in the hands too and definitely grippy.

The left side took a little work to get on though. The flange was too wide to fit inside the switch housing. My son did some dremel work to thin it out to the thickness of the original grip and it all went together.

I didn't do it today, last December I had the Avon Air Grips installed on my Freewheeler. The owner of an independent shop recommended them because they install without any modifications. I love them.
