LA Choppers sells a couple of different 3-3.5" Pegs (The picture below is their Extended Delrin Shifter Peg P/NLA-7200-00B) as well as a shifter peg extension (LA Choppers P/N LA -7201-00). Pingle also has a shifter extension that puts the shifter length at 3" (Picture below) Pingle P/N 62167. I had the Pingle one but kept hanging my toe up on it. I am not a heel toe guy, so I am sure it would be different for somebody who is.

It looks like weather in my area will be an issue for a few days with rain/ storms as some of my favorite riding routes flood. Everyone be safe.

    Default Stereo Upgrade

I had a handlebar mounted stereo system on my FW for a few month - Just didn't perform very well - So , I bought a 180 watt unit ( 4x45w ) that came with ( 2 ) speakers - I used the other ( 2 ) outputs to run 3.5mm headphone jacks for our helmet speakers - Unit really performs well - It was easy to mount on the on top of the fork cover down under my windshield bag - Speakers look good an sound good - FM Radio picks up stations nice - Even came with a lighted remote ...Name: 20190326_182014.jpg

When it warms a little more, I am going to drain my clutch & differential (currently using Lucas 20W/50 high performance full synthetic motorcycle oil) and give HD Formula + a try. I have 2 quarts of it I can't return & want to see how it works over the summer. I will say I am very happy with the Lucas. I am also going to try Castrol Actevo 20W/50 in the engine over the summer.

In the fall, after my 2,200 mile round trip to the 4-Corners Motorcycle Rally (Labor Day Weekend) in Durango, CO, I will drain all 3 holes & give Redline a try.

Jack, just so you know, this is not an oil thread...This is more of a "What did you do to your oil today thread'"

Tomorrow is the day for my oil test. After a fun warm up ride, I will drain all 3 holes & put HD Formula + in the primary & tranny & I have Castrol Actevo 20W50 oil for the engine. After about 4 to 5,000 miles, I will be back to Lucas & Red Line after this experiment.

I am really looking forward to trying the Redline Shockproof in the tranny. It has a great reputation.

You know what though, you got me thinking, maybe I'll just use it in the clutch cause I change it more often. Redline Shockproof is going in the tranny tomorrow.

    Default Sissy bar

After bending the stock bar an installing a wrap around arm rest setup ... I have made arrangements have the bar extended about 18" up for cosmetic appearance ... This will also give " Sweety" and hand hold for climbing on an off - I will post photos once done.

I got all done with the lube changes. On my warm-up ride I went to my dealer (Doc's HD) to get a derby cover gasket.

I figured I had never changed it and would be nice to my baby. They only sell it in a kit with the 3 drain plug "O" rings, which I don't need, as I bought a 10 pack from the hardware store. Doc's gives me a 10% discount on everything, so it was only $5.30

Back home, after pulling the plugs, I pulled the cover and the gasket looked great, then I remembered that it got replaced at the end of the year during the clutch recall. Oh well, now I have a spare & I got a cup of coffee out of the deal.

The drain plugs for the engine & tranny looked great, along with the Lucas oil, the primary plug & fluid looked nasty.

I guess it's the material from the clutch plates.

They had all the new colors on the showroom floor & I like that denim red.

They also had a used 2017 (black) with 725 miles marked down to $21,000

Overall, a fun day, but storms are coming tomorrow, so I will have to wait till Saturday for a test ride.

one other thing, I could never see the Lucas on the tranny dipstick, it was hard to read...That is not a problem with the Redline.

I didn't retire from the Navy (Submariner), just a bit shy of 11 years of service, with over 18 months under water.

    We were professional ball busters.

Yup, I ran the Lucas gear lube just for grins once, could not see it on the stick

@ the next oil change I switched back to Redline I am sure Lucas is a gear gear lube as is their oil My local HD dealer is now selling Redline Cycle Gear stores also carry Redline
