    Default Stallion Windshields being reproduced

Took me a bit longer than anticipated to create a new post about the Stallion windshield situation.

As most of you know, MT has been "out of stock" on Stallion windshields for quite some time with no foreseeable resolution to the "issue". I have zero "skin" in this beyond but I know that there are those of you out there wanting/needing windshields & wanted to pass the information along.

An independent shop that is owned by a friend of mine in Indiana took on this windshield "project" (he owns a few Stallions himself).

He finally found a shop that had the tooling and ability to reproduce the windshields (took some time, he was turned down by several companies who weren't interested, couldn't do it, or pricing was out of this world). He finally found a vendor that agreed to produce them for him, and while the price is higher than any of us want to see (himself included), it was the only option for anywhere close to the price range. They are about $2,200 and are available in the regular clear or a tinted version.

Down side - they are not a "direct fit" for the fiberglass bodied units & would require the bottom of the windshield to be trimmed to fit the mounting that was used on the f-glass units. In short, you can take a plastic bodied windshield & modify to fit a fiberglass bodied unit, but can't do it the other way (which is why he had them made for the plastic body). If anyone has a fiberglass bodied Stallion & is needing a windshield but wants to know specifics on the modifications needed, you can call me and I will be happy to explain what has to be done (Richard @ Motor Trike)

If you want more information or are interested in ordering, please contact him directly as these will not be carried or offered via Motor Trike/TBMS & are an "exclusive" that will only be offered through his shop. Bill is a stand up guy & I'll vouch for him as such (not that my word necessarily means a great deal ).

I was looking for a windshield for a 2009 a while back when I was looking at one that needed one. This is what I sent to Richard.

When I was talking with Peggy at Racing Shields she was looking at pictures of the Stallion and from that she told me that if they have the mold that the cost of a Stallion windshield would cost in the range of $400-$800. If you want to start stocking windshields for any of the Stallion owners I would suggest you contact Peggy at Racing Shields at 1-800-554-7527. I have been doing this leg work because I'm possibly looking at buying a stallion that is missing a windshield. I currently don't even own a stallion. I will let you take it from here, good luck.

First of all, I sure hope everyone had a good Christmas & New years and that both were uneventful!

Greg, I did forward that information to Bill and he looked into them as they are not very far from him. It's been a while so I may be more than a little fuzzy on the details. The mold is not available for the w/s for the Stallions, but Bill had a one off tinted version produced for him (by the original manufacturer) & provided it to them as a basis for the molding process.

As I recall the projected price for the mold better than doubled from what they projected & they were unable to give a "definitive" final price on the windshields until they had a mold finished. He wasn't willing to spend the sort of money required for them to build a mold without knowing up front a definitive projected price for the windshields would be & opted to go another route instead.
