Does that mean I don't have to buy a Live Wire just yet, lol?
The United States Geological Survey confirmed the discovery this week of the largest “continuous oil and gas assessment” ever found, under Texas and New Mexico; with Secretary of the Interior Ryan Zinke saying “Christmas came a few weeks early this year.”
“Today, the U.S. Department of the Interior announced the Wolfcamp Shale and overlying Bone Spring Formation in the Delaware Basin portion of Texas and New Mexico’s Permian Basin province contain an estimated mean of 46.3 billion barrels of oil, 281 trillion cubic feet of natural gas, and 20 billion barrels of natural gas liquids, according to an assessment by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). This estimate is for continuous (unconventional) oil, and consists of undiscovered, technically recoverable resources,” writes the United States Geological Survey.
“Christmas came a few weeks early this year,” said U.S. Secretary of the Interior Ryan Zinke. “American strength flows from American energy, and as it turns out, we have a lot of American energy. Before this assessment came down, I was bullish on oil and gas production in the United States. Now, I know for a fact that American energy dominance is within our grasp as a nation.”
“The results of this most recent assessment and that of the Wolfcamp Formation in the Midland Basin in 2016 are our largest continuous oil and gas assessments ever released,” added Dr. Jim Reilly, USGS Director.

And yet we continue to fork over billions for crude oil to countries that hate US.
Why???
Isn't it weird that in AMERICA, our flag and our culture offend so many people...but our benefits don't???
Yep...and you have NO idea how negatively this has impacted our area... beat-up roads, continuous filthy dirty air with all the construction and wind, drivers zonked out on drugs and alcohol or from another country and don’t know the traffic laws literally causing daily traffic deaths, truckers continuously hitting bridges due to not heeding oversized load laws, traffic backed up everywhere due to antiquated traffic light systems, Walmart running bare shelves on various stuff, a huge overpopulation of pet dogs and cats dumped because landlords don’t allow pets, leased housing looking like parking lots due to so many people being stacked in 1 house and nowhere proper to park their cars, apartment rents up to $2000/month, regular gas $3+/gallon, long waits to get into doctor offices, restaurants, movies, rush hour all day long...morning, lunch, 5pm... dumping household items and trash anyplace they can’t get caught, the cities jacking up the homeowners water bills and in the meantime telling them they can’t use it in certain ways or be fined,,,,lovely...just lovely.
Right now they are drilling but not completing near all the wells they are drilling as they have no way to move the oil and gas - not enough pipelines to carry it all. No use in producing the well as there’s just not enough storage for the oil and gas until they can get it pipelined. They are building pipelines as fast as they can but it takes time.
As to the driving deaths... this summer a dear friend of mine’s daughter (she was a doctor here in town) was riding her bicycle on the service road of a main artery....it was on a straightaway, NO traffic on the road with her.... was hit and killed instantly from behind by a twerp running 80mph! HOW could he not have seen her? It was flat, no curves...just ran right into her.
Nope... I’m not a happy camper with this. I’m sitting right in the middle of it shaking my head.

If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.
The sad and ignorant thing about this is... we produce it right here, there is a refinery 42 miles east of us, and yet everybody else in Texas is well under our $3.00.... towns as close as 100 miles...all east of us are well under $3.00. You think they’re gouging? BTW, a hundred miles is a mere hop in west Texas.

I think I'd pay $3 a gallon if I could have Texas BBQ once a week ... oh yea ... gas here is $2.49 a gallon ..
Thanks for the post Zook, look folks, our country has to have something to export, I know, a total life interruption for some.
Your not alone. Living in the most expensive state of NY , all you hear is how much it costs to repair/replace this and that. Thers a nukelear energy plant ( Indian Point) here that our governor is closing in 2021. Not giving a dam to what the impact it will have on the area.
Amagine your taxes to increase to 50% with in a year ! You still need the place maned 24/7 , you can’t just turn off a switch , not to mention all the spent fuel cells being stored in containers, as no one knows what to do with them . The place is well maintained , as the inspections are hourly done. It’s saving money as it is making money. They also donate a ton of money to the community. No it’s not a smoke screen , the employees I know there are puzzled also.
Our governor, Andy Como is just a Obama in Albany NY.
If only I was younger with no family here , I’d be history.

I do not know why anyone would live in NY or CA, but again, that's just me; lots of folks apparently like it in both states. and I'm not here to start a 'thing',
I think this is very good news for our country
I am guessing we can thank Trump for lifting restrictions on oil exploration
This should jump start the pipeline, creating many new jobs
Gas prices have continued to drop here in Jacksonville Florida
WE have city and municipal taxes added on to the cost of gas, tho I can now get Premium fuel for under 3 dollars a gallon
