I really like the Freewheeler but man the cost is really holding me back. I would have to give them my 14 LTD and $15K for a new unit. My local dealer seems to think that MSRP is a smoking deal and usually add to that. My question is: Is that normal procedure at all Harley dealers or do some negotiate below list?

My experience with buying 4 new Harleys over the years [From one dealer only]

He waved the transport fees on all of them [Thats close to a grand] and the first 2 services were labor free..

And with one a new 2011 Tri-Glide a thousand off of list also..

All other dealers were hard and firm on list and transport......

I never pay List price. How much you can deal will depend on what kind of Sales the Dealer is having for the mouth, ( Slow or Good ) If they won't move on the price, go for Free Extras, Chrome, Seats, Backrest, and even Free or half price Service contract. Show them with no Deal, your ready to Walk. You'll find one some where. Good Luck.

My dealer wouldn't budge on list but, gave a discount on any clothing and accessories for the first 60 days plus a $1000 gift card that could be used on the bike purchase.

I believe they also got rid of the shipping fee.

I hadn't owned a bike in 20 years so I did not have any riding gear so the discount helped quite a bit with that and you can never have too many accessories.

Yes, you can deal on current or year old models. We have dealers offering an extra 2 years of warranty/service or an engine upgrade to 114 cu.in.

Dealing on the newest models is tougher, but doable.

Sell the LTD outright.Pay cash for new trike if possible.Subtract 15% from selling price and begin negotiating. Most dealers are hungry at end of month.Be willing to walk.Option B (Ive bought semi trucks like this) Send out RFP to every dealer via a fax or email. Low bid wins.Fly out drive back.Note: make sure the RFP is signed by an officer of the dealership-not salesman.Happy hunting.
