I have had the Time Out Camper for 2 Years. This year I started a Time Out Dealership
index I sell 14 differant cargo trailers and 4 campers and new for 2011 is The Time Out Deluxe - with 12" wheels. And we have the adapters to a four pin flat for the Stallion. Great campers.

We pull a Quicksilver 6.0 with our trike. It does have surge brakes, has AC, weighs 1320 fully loaded, all aluminum, very easy. Pulled over 15000 miles on last summer, 13 states, 3 1/2 months. Wonderful experience, ready to go again. We do most of our own cooking so carry a small toaster oven, propane skillet, hot plate, dishes, porta potty, heater. We put sheets, blanket, electric blanket on mattress and it stays on during set up and take down so it's very easy.

OK Stallion experts, I'm trying to wire an adapter between my Stallion and my trailer. I've read in here about a 4-pin flat coming out of hte Stallion, another said he had a 5-pin round, but my Stallion has a 6-pin round receptacle (looks like a factory install). That's 5 pins around a center pin. I've tested it for 'standard' 6-pin round functions, but no go. I've sat for the longest time with my multimeter trying to use logic to figure out the configuration, but again no go (I must be losing my touch).

So, is this a standard outlet from TBMS or one added later? If it is from the factory does anyone have a wiring diagram of the pin functions? I can wire my adapter for 5-poin flat functions (independent brake lights) or 4-pin flat (brake lights common with turns).

I can call the factory, but I thought I'd give my Stallion buddies a chance first.

When I was in Daytona Monday talking to Jeff, I noticed one of the Stallions had the round connection on the back. I asked about it and Jeff said it was for one of the trailers that they make that also works with a Goldwing connector.

I am not a GW guy so I do not know the connector.

Here is what I do know about 6 wire connectors. You should find that one contact is 12 volts with the ignition or or possibly hot all the time. This is for power to the trailer for an interior light etc. Then you should have an electrical ground. This is different from a mechanical ground because the trailer will have a fiberglass or pastic body without metal near most places so they run a electrical ground in the harness and from the connector. The rest are the common right turn, left turn, running and brake lights. If you find the electrical ground first with your meter then start looking for the rest with reference to that electrical ground. If you use a frame gound nothing shows as hot because it does not use a frame ground for reference.

Look at the wires feeding the connector from the back side, (you may have to cut back some wrapping) the one I messed with used the white wire as the electrical ground, Red for the brake, brown for the running, yellow left turn, green right turn and black for the hot 12 volt for the interior light and electric lock.

I hope this helps.

Good luck it took me an hour to figure this out. The electrical ground was the clue to solve for me.

Just a word about hooking up your trailer wiring plug to the plug on the Stallion, I noticed that my Stallion plug is starting to "pit" already and mine was bought new in August of last year. We all need to keep some electric grease on the connectors or your asking for some trouble down the road.

The dielectric "tune up" grease works very well for this. Even here in the desert I use it on every connection I can find on my trike - plugs, bulbs, fuses, etc. Started using it about 6 years ago when I noticed fuse prongs corroding on my Sportie. Used to be when ever I got a set of spark plug wires or distributor cap for what I was working on at work, a small bubble of grease came with these items. Since the shop supplied dielectric grease by the 1 oz tube, I ended up with a drawer full of the unused bubbles that are handy to just throw in with the tool kit. The 1 oz tubes are available at any auto parts place - Auto Zone, O'Riely/Schucks/Checker, Pep Boys, Napa, Carquest, Etc. For our trikes, the 1 oz tube will be a life time supply!
