New "Thanks" and "Likes" Buttons

​I see we now have the ability to either "Like" or "Thank" a post.

The function buttons appear on the lower left corner of each post.

I'm sure their is a lot of room for interpretation on the difference. As an example, let's look at your recent reply to this thread I just started.

I may not necessarily agree with the content of your post but as a matter of courtesy, I can let you know that I "Thank" you for taking the time to respond to my thread.

Now i have too many choices, And i have to think about what to click on to...

And thinking isn't one of my strong points....Once i click on one theres no going back, And i'll be up all night thinking did i make the right choice...If i clicked on Like, And latter i started thinking like is too strong, Maybe i should have been thinking i should have clicked on Thank....Too much thinking and clicking going on i'm starting to think.....Any way Thanks for your expansion , Or maybe i think i should say i liked your expansion.......Any how i think i'm too confused to be thinking anymore...

So thanking means I don't agree with you? I think we need a non negative definition! Too many will interpret it as a slam

I don't think "Thanking" means I don't agree, it is just hard to "Like" a post about a mass shooting at a school or something really tragic but I can be thankful for the information.

If I don't agree I move on to the next post unless I have an opinion that I care to share.

Maybe just eliminate them all? What difference does it make if you like or dislike a post? I know I'm probably missing the obvious but I don't see what difference it makes.I don't really care whether you like what have to say or not. I don't post to be popular, good thing right. I just don't understand? If I see something I don't like I move on.

Many times, these thanks or likes can alert the poster that someone has viewed their post, and may have answered said post. There is no alert to when a person has commented on your post, so it’s an easy way to do that since you are alerted when it’s been thanked or liked.

When I want someone to know that I read the their post that’s what I do I press the like button ��

John, the entire basis of The Trike Talk forum is for the positive and constructive interaction of information by all the members.There are not any means or methods set up for the purpose of slamming our members.

I think Lola, LadyonMission, summarized it pretty good in her recent post:

All I can say, from my point of view, if you are unsure of the intent of the "Thanks" or "Likes" features and you want to give a post some love or appreciation to a member's post, then use the "Like" feature.
