Hi from Oregon Phil. Welcome to Trike Talk, Steve.
Welcome Phil, at the top of the Tri Glide section, there are a group of “sticky’s “. Go down to the DK sticky on a 14 Tri Glide. I realize yours is an 11 model , but you will gain a lot of useful info. Also just scroll through the pages and click on articles that interest you if you don’t want to do a search. Literally tons of great info from knowledgeable folks! Enjoy!
Hi Phil, welcome. 1st accessory imo are Love Jugs. Then a Dk Customs air cleaner where you can vent your crank cases externally. They also have a kit to get the stock air cleaner to vent externally. It’s all about heat abatement to get longevity and improved performance. DK has focused many of their products on reducing engine, oil and rider heat. Oil filter relo kit, tank lift with wind deflectors, auxiliary oil cooler. Congrats on your new ride.
Welcome to the Gang from Western Colorado.
Congratulations on the purchase for a Triglide you will love it, great machines not perfect but still nice heat is an enemy of air cooled engines as you know. An ECM Tuner is most likely a must there are good ones out there. Check out the threads about the subject and as stated before Love jugs (mighty mites seem to work really well I use them). Air deflectors push air down on motor as well. A tank lift is useful to also help keep motor cooler. Heat management is a multi point solution for the heat problem developed by the 103" Twin cam motor. We have our 09' running much cooler after traveling down the heat control road interesting to say the least. Kevin the K in DK Customs has help me and many others with heat management and also comfort suspensions check it out. Good luck they are great machines...Travel safe Fred

Ride it for a while and then decide what you need to do. I have never had a bad heat problem (higher heat tolerance maybe?) but I have done a few low cost additions. Floorboard extensions and a set of crotch coolers from Capt. Itch. That's the extent of my heat control. All my Harleys have been stock except for 2.
The only accessories I put on the TG now are for safety and comfort.
If you do a lot of long distance trips, I highly recommend the H-D Road Zepplin air seat.
Good luck and congrats and welcome to the Harley family.
