Haven't had much coffee yet, but sounds like something someone may have added? The only "sliding" things that I know of is under the left speaker (foot warmers) & the levers to the outside of each speaker for windshield adjustment.

Those circled in red are the lock levers for your adjustable windshield. In the up position you can adjust your windshield up or down. In the down position you windshield is locked in position.

The one circled in yellow is to open and close the foot warmer vent doors that are in the lower panels by the rider foot pegs.

We need a picture of the lever you speak of! Like trike tech posted, I know of no other OEM sliding levers than the ones he showed.

I don't remember how high your ground effects are on your CSC, but on my Hannigan kit, with the large ground effects, you will love those foot warmer vents. With protection from the wind that the ground effects provide, they really help to keep the feet warm. I made the mistake last Summer of turning them on during a ride in August and thought my shoes were going to melt. LOL

Got the flashlight out and checked my 2008 Gold Wing ... there is a slight vertical gap as you have and inside that speaker cavity there appears to be a “something” that looks like your “switch”... I can’t tell what it is but it is not protruding outside the speaker cavity.

I would assume that someone had that area apart and didn’t properly get all the wires/connections tucked back into the speaker cavity - as Rhino 2 suggests.

I’d tuck it in if possible and go on down the road.

Use a wooden or plastic tool to push it back under the plastic ... I believe it's the speaker wire bundle ... jus didn't get back in ... if you have a rake kit, I'd bet when the rake was installed it got left out a tad

Or .. you could pull the dash out to get it back in ... but ... I think a popsicle stick would push it in ... if after that if comes out again, you may have to pull the speaker/ignition cover

The wire on the left hanging in front of the speaker is what I believe it to be ... goes to the tweeter.

That is the wire for the tweeter in the speaker grill. I've seen them not get tucked properly & show through countless times. I "borrowed" one of the pictures Fuzzy used in his lcd replacement write up (hopefully he doesn't mind) & circled the loomed wire in red to show it. It's quite simple to "miss" getting the wire tucked behind the dash cover when reinstalling, I've done it myself once or twice (at least that's all I'll admit to ). I can certainly see how one might think it's some kind of switch or lever with the ribbing on the loom used on that wire.

Don't mind at all ... Great Minds (or in my case A B normal) think alike. I chose a different picture to show it ... the one you picked did show it a little more clearly.

This link takes you to a video to remove the dash/speaker cover ... pull it and see if that is not what it is or at least get a better look at it.

It's important to note ... the video doesn't show the guy "lifting up the key cover", and removing the two screws under it. Use a plastic molding tool or popsicle stick to gently pry the cover around the key. Under there is two phillips screws that need to be removed.

After that, you can gently lift the rear end of the dash cover, near the fuel door until the posts pop out of the rubber grommets. It's like the posts and grommets on the side cover. From this point the video does a fairly good job on showing how to get the dash cover off.

The key is to go slow and gently. The electrical connectors are tricky to figure out, mainly because Honda is famous for giving you not a lot of room to pull the piece away so you can see them. The wires are always just long enough to get a hand in to do that. Use a flashlight to see the plugs, go gently and "wiggle" them when you try to get them apart. Never force them. Last thing you want to do is "unpin" the plug.

If pulling this dash cover isn't something your comfy with ... take it back to the installer or a Honda dealer. Shouldn't be much to pull it and show you what it is and tuck it back up. This would give you piece of mind and who knows ... someone could of put some kind of switch in there. Your picture does show a wire run ... in my pictures, there is way more dust (older bike and really dirty in there), but I believe it's the same wire run.

I picture might help. I have a 2012 with a new CSC kit and do not know of a slide switch except for the ones for the windshield release.
