Hello all. I am new here, and am helping my dad finish up his VW trike. One of the only things left is to run a throttle cable, but where do you guys have a 13' cable made?
TIA!

I made a tempory set up out of a bicycle tune up kit had several cables that I spliced together. not intended to use forever, but I think It could last a long time.mainly just wanted one for mockup without spending a lot of money for trial and error. It worked pretty good. cable end fit in the throttle handle very well with no binding
Places tha make them for dune buggies or motorcycles should be able to make them for you.
Thanks all! Here are a few pics. Obviously, the seats are not mounted yet. We just finished the wiring, and they had to be off to make getting to everything easier
It looks REAL good!

If you want to fab your own cable, go to a Lowes building supply center or similar store and check out the steel cable they have for sale by the foot. You would have to fab your own ends and use metal tubing for a housing. I have seen cable that appeared to be air craft quality at Lowes, in various diameters. Happy Triking! Peace, Don
If you can dream it, you can do it.
Hello again all. Here are some more recent shots of the trike. It is waiting on DMV stuff to be 100% road legal. Otherwise, it is pretty much ready to go! Dad found a good source for the throttle cable and they did a really nice job getting the length and ends correct on it.
That looks awesome! And as a Fat Boy owner, I thoroughly approve the front wheel . LOL!

Thanks! He has some baby moon type caps for the rear wheels, but is going to have to tweak them for a tight fit. Just out of curiosity, are there fully threaded coilovers available for the VW rear suspension? He is almost out of adjustment on the coils he has and there are some scrubbing issues out back. It's ether fix it with coils or drop the rear tire size.
