No The Staples are aluminum. When I had my knee replaced, the nurse took a pair of dykes/side cutters and snipped them and then pulled out all the pieces. 32 staples.

Glad all went well for you. The first month of PT is tuff, but you got to keep it limbered up and moving.
Someone recommended to me to take 1/2 a pain pill before the PT session and then ice it down right after and it makes it go smoother. There were times the 1/2 pill really helped after the physical "terrorist" got done with me, haha. But, I've got nearly normal motion in my knee now.
I may need more metal parts in the future tho

I don't know for sure ... but I think the blue lines are so when he cuts the skin he can pull it back and line it up. With all my freckles ... he could of just connected the dots ....
My biggest complaint so far ... I don't remember getting this tired last time ... but the therapist (Mom calls her Satan's evil spawn) said that she used to have to wake me to torture me ....
Good to see you on the mend

If you have inflammation ... you bet ... with the replacements, there is lots of swelling (not as much this time) and this machine does a great job of reducing it ... I have to be a little cautious with it, since I had frost bite in both feet and the left hand, i will get the chills if I use it too long ... I set a timer for an hour and that seems to work well.
I have two of these machines ... I tried to bring my old one in, but, the hospital was concerned that I'd bring germs in ... and besides they are only like $600 (my nurse quoted me that number).
Surgery was Monday about noon, after a no sleep night I came home yesterday after my first PT about noon. Doc said today would be "Hurt Day" he was right about that, pain is under control pretty good with the pills. Keeping the swelling down is a bit tough, but ice 20 min. on and 20 min. off. Just got to remember riding season is coming so need to recoup & get the other knee done. Hope you're doing well Fuzzy.
Glad it went well ... my second day was killer ... once that nerve block thing wore off ... lots o pain.
Red was right ... we need to get some patches or something ... maybe, as suggested, titanium knees ... in my case ... with hash marks ... LOL.
I started a thread about the knee surgery .. feel free to post how you're doing there ... between us and everyone else that's had them, maybe we can help someone thinking about it.
So ... I hated the chrome stuff on Helga ... but I think a tad of it might look good on Jessica.
Pulled the side covers and took off the OEM trim ends. Put the Kuryakyn ones on. But before that ... I wiped everything down well with alcohol, then the McKee's wax ... read about that on the ceramic wax thread ... little drama.
I think the chrome looks good on the side covers.
Okay, so cabin fever is getting to me ... went to the garage ... sat in a chair ... and pulled the front fender. Basically there where three reasons for this.
1) Install the Kuryakyn Gen II fork Brace (which will be the last step).
2) Install the Show Chrome front fender extension. (Did this today)
3) De wax, polish and be ready to seal with the ceramic stuff (ordered the right stuff this time).
So here is the fender back half with the extension installed
I actually found this on eBay and was gonna replace the rubber one on Helga ... never got around to it ... so a win.
Fuzz, that fender extension looks great, I'm gonna search ebay for that, look super good on my white. Is that the Show Chrome black for $34.95? But wait, I see another, looks longer for $34.99......
I paid $25 ... shipped ... it was NOS ... looked like it sat in a window somewhere. Packaging was all fading. But when I opened it ... every thing looked fine.
When and If you install the fender extension, couple of tricks to make it not stress the rear half of the front fender.
Clean where the extension will sit with alcohol. Put double sided Gorilla Tape between extension and fender. Minimizes vibration.
Next, when you drill the holes, drill them to fit the "inserts" that the screws go through. This will take even more stress off the fender.
Today was a lite day on Jessica ... woke to wet, cold, icy snow. Went to the machine shop to check on my fire stick mod adapters (here's where a drill press and lathe would come in handy )
The to get stitches out and more snow. All told, about 6 inches.
So, I de waxed the side covers and used a fast polish on the front fender parts, then dewed them too. My McKee's ceramic stuff will be here tomorrow, so, I'm ready.
The four pieces will be a great test. Especially when I can do them on my bed ... LOL. Nothing ventured nothing gained.
P.S. The thing I love about Grand Junction ... it was like 12* snowing and icy, 6" total. Around one o'clock, the sun came out, got to about 35*, very dry and the streets and sidewalks are clear. There is still snow to look at on the grass and in some of the shadows, but, no driving or walking on it. I was a chore with the walker in the snow this morning.
