can someone explain to me what the vin number has anything to do with ford and our stallion except for the last 3 digits they do not mean anything.

same here, from all i've heard it's the production number

i wouldn't suspect it has anything to do with Ford ... they just bought drive trains.

I would suspect it has more to do with orders accessories, paint code, manufacturer, maybe year ... but that is a guess.
