Thanks all for the info, It was my go to place for HD parts.
2019 Red and Silver Tri Glide
Haven't seen any mention on this or other forums about calling to check about the online store. Guy at Boardtracker H-D said they were trying to figure out the problem with the online store and hopefully it would be back up and running before long. No reason not to believe him but it's been down for several days and does make one wonder. But it could be some kind of equipment failrue (server perhaps) that requires a new part to come in and get configured. Still a bit suspect imo that the online store is down just as the news about the financial difficulties broke. Time will tell.
I've ordered many products from Boardtracker/Kutter over the years. Always give my local dealer first shot but if they cant match BT 20% off then I'll get it from Anthony. Due to the constantly changing weather patterns here in N.C. Ive come to try to simplify life in my old age.One day it'll be in the mid 60's then drop into the 30's.Average around 50 degrees. So I wanted a pair of FXRG waterproof overpants. Need em in medium. My local dealer only has X Large. Apparently only big jamokes ride HD anymore.Cant locate in her system. BT had my size 20% off list.So I place the order on Thursday.Anthony got em to me Monday.Presidents day! Cant believe USPS parcel were running. Now Im not gonna debate HD's motorclothes Vs some other brand. If you prefer something else-go in peace. But these pants fit great and work as advertised. Pricey- yes. Im old and I dont care- I want to be comfortable. I ride in any weather. So now I decide I want the FXRG triple vent jacket to match. Same deal. Motorclothes gal only has XL.Cant match BT's price either. So I order the jacket on 2/23. Cost $520 shipped. Still no sign of it.Not gonna panic. Anthony said 2-4 weeks. We shall see. If Boardtracker goes belly up I may have some recourse via Capital 1.
For people that are planning on buying a ESP from Jim Palmer, I would think twice, saw on the HD forums about Boardtracker and according to what I read the ESP or discountESP is connected to JHP holding which owns Boardtracker, might want to go there and see for yourself, I have no dog in the fight, I bought my extended warranty from my dealer, just passing on what I read to help others out.
I may have read it wrong and I did read it twice but I didn't go thru all the posts but did see where JHP holding I think that is the name and they own DiscountESP and Boardtracker.
All for now Trampas
Hope Kevin sees this since he was posting about getting extended warranty from them
Just looked at the online HD Accessories and Parts Catalogue and there are no prices listed throughout the catalogue. Not sure when this happened but it is a fairly recent development. The past Canadian Catalogue is the same as the US but with different prices to reflect the dollar difference, - and the US version always included Instructions whereas the Canadian one never did. Now no prices as well.

I bought a 7-year ESP with W&T from Jim last fall so I am very interested in how this plays out. I must confess ignorance in that I did not understand that the selling dealer - Boardtracker which is owned by JHD Holdings in this case - is the party which actually pays the ESP claims. I don't know if that is true with the H-D sponsored ESP. Does the actual selling dealer have to pay the claims or does H-D corporate pay? Any way JHD is the company which is being sued by H-D. So they are already behind in payments and if anything even more catastrophic should happen (like shutting down) then where would we as ESP holders be?
I've had a couple emails with Jim Palmer and today I called the Administrator which if First Extended Service Corporation (1st). Both Jim and 1st confirmed that the selling dealer pays the claims. Jim unequivocally states that the problem with the New Berlin store (Iron Town H-D) will be worked out very soon and that the finances for Boardtracker will be also and Boardtracker will stay in business. Both Jim and 1st told me that in the worst case if the selling dealer was insolvent then Virginia Surety which insures the ESP would do so. I have no reason to doubt what two independent sources have told me but I sure hope it doesn't come to the insurer having to step in. My H-D factory warranty is good until the end of September so I have plenty of time to cancel the Discount ESP and pick up a H-D sponsored ESP if I need to do so. Right now I'm just going to sit tight and see what develops.
I purchased a 7 year, with tire coverage, from Jim in February 2018. At that time he was selling First Extended as his primary company, but could still write for CornerStone United. I decided I wanted Cornerstone because most of the people that had bought Cornerstone over the last few years for motorcycles, were satisfied with them.
I called Cornerstone this afternoon and spoke with a representative about this matter with Boardtracker and the ESP stuff. The gentleman told me that they (Cornerstone) paid the claims and not the selling dealer. He said it didn't matter if they, the seller, was still in business or not. Now I have no way of knowing how far up the importance chart the guy I spoke with is, but he sounded knowledgeable to me and assured me that Cornerstone paid the claims.
So, I guess I feel a little better about my situation with Cornerstone. I sincerely hope that things work out for Boardtracker and Jim also. I have done a lot of parts business with them. I don't know if buying the HD ESP would be handled differently or not.

Just caught up on this thread.
I have purchased many extended warranty's from Jim. They have ALL been the HD brand. I have considered his alternative plans, but never was 100% comfortable with them. (even though I have read great reviews on them over the years)
The HD branded ESP is more expensive than the alternatives, but have always been able to get them from Jim for less than any of the local dealerships.

Unfortunately as of a few years ago that is no longer possible. I too have bought the H-D sponsored ESP from a couple different dealers who discounted. But the moco put their big foot down and forbade dealers to sell ESPs outside their assigned area. Don't know if the moco actually stopped the discounting but from checking I've done and from what I hear from many others discounts on the H-D sponsored ESPs just are not there any longer. Bummer for sure since the cost of them has gone way, way up.
I've done more reading and checking on the DiscountESP and feel pretty OK with it now. It clearly states that if the sponsoring dealer does not pay then Virginia Surety (an insurance company) will. These insurance companies all have so many subsidiaries and sister companies that it is confusing. But I did find that Virginia Surety is a sub of TWG Holding which is a sub of The Warranty Group, Inc. As as of last summer Assurant purchased the Warranty Group. As an insurance agent myself I am familiar with Assurant. Assurant is a public company so that gives me comfort that there is adequate back up 'just in case.'
Yes, when HD made a bunch of policy changes, some years back, Jim was no longer able to sell the HD branded ESP over the phone or by email.
HOWEVER, if you rode up to his location on the bike you wanted the ESP on, you could get it from him, and yes, he continued to discount it (locally), after the HD policy changes.

Well everyone has to make their own decision about this. All I'm saying is that I feel pretty good about it and Jim has assured me in writing as to these facts. And he says the problem is with the New Berlin store which according to the article they are trying to sell. He says this will all be worked out shortly and that Boardtracker will continue.
