Thanks for the pictures. We missed a good time.
I think I recognized Zammy, Ol'School, 2Paps, David357 and Papa Zook. Anyone willing to put names with the pix?

The above quotes speak volumes to the true depth and meaning of our Trike Talk Family.
Each yearly Maggie Valley event has been an absolutely incredibly warm and growing lifetime experience for everyone that attends. The compassion, generosity and respect that the Trike Talk Family shows each other cannot be matched anywhere. It comes easy and naturally for the Family. This is what makes each year's events so enjoyable and successful.
Thank you so much.
I am, and will be, forever humbled to be a part of our Trike Talk Family.
I totally agree Dave! Our Trike Talk Family are some of the best people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing and our time at the Maggie Valley event the last few years have made for some of our most memorable experiences! We start looking forward to the next year as soon as we are home from the last event.

"I don't need a map. I still have a road in front of me!"
We've finally caught up around the house after 5 weeks on the road and a few calls to our cable provider, glad to be able to get on the TT site!!! We had a great time as always at MV this year, catching up with old friends and making new ones. This was a special year because of 2Paps, his wife Connie and Papa Zook, it was a real treat to be with them.
We didn't even take any pictures this year, too busy riding, eating, and having a good time so a big thanks to those that did.

Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave in a well-preserved body, but to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting...Holy Sh!t What a ride!
Zammy, as I've already commented, sure a lot of good comments out there from those that attended, sorry I missed it, and really looking forward to 2020 with hopes that all goes well.
That my butt definitely was in condition after a total mileage of 1965.
Mostly everyone had this wierd talking accent !

So many to thank for making this an exceedingly fun and friendly gathering.
A huge thanks to Becky & Doug for taking the lead in organizing things and for planning and hosting the cookout, from buying all the food, drinks, condiments and supplies and setting it up and cooking it to perfection with help from Zammy and David and Polly. And Becky's tribute to Ed, with the custom printed Trike Flyer T-shirts and video presentation, and Ed's response just melted me and everyone there into a puddle..so much love, kindness and support.
What huge hearts you two have. Yall went way above and beyond and it was so appreciated by all of us!
Also thanks to Marc and to John (and others) for leading some great rides, much appreciation for that. And a special thanks to Mike for furnishing some very special, awesome (and potent) 'craft refreshments'. Guess this falls under team building..? LMAO...Holy cow was that fun!
And to Ed, thanks for being you. You're the kind of man we all strive to be. So much more I could say, but all of you who were there know where I'm coming from...Ed is the glue that binds this group together.
And lastly, a sincere Thank You to every single person who hit the long road to Maggie Valley, just to hang out with this group of crazy, like minded enthusiasts. We are all so different, but very much the same. Every one of you added to the experience and I am proud to call each of you my friend and extended family.

Randy, Doug and I want to thank you for your kind words. We only did what someone else may have done. We both enjoyed our week there so very much that I truly didn't want to leave. If it weren't for dogs, I may have looked for a job slinging beer or as a waitress at the Willie Brooks place. In any case, I can see myself living in the Valley someday...
I have a couple of ideas for next year, so be looking for an email or a post from me asking for your assistance! Other than Frankie's, Willie Brooks, and that burger place Zammy, JoAnn, Greg, Doug and I went to, does anyone have any other restaurants they like? There is a place in Waynesville with good BBQ, but I think Willie Brooks beats them in the ribs department. Send the names of the good eating places to me and we'll see if we can check them out next year.
We were also very happy and thankful to see Ed (2paps) and his wife Connie at the Rally! Hopefully, we'll have him/them up on a trike by next year after some further recovery time for Ed. And, she may not see this unless her dad shows her, but Ed's daughter Kelly put a huge amount of time into the video presentation (over 80 hours!!) and also deserves our appreciation and thanks. All I did was order tshirts. She is the one who did all the work!!
BW and the desk ladies are the best!! They put up with our craziness and invading their breakfast room at all hours and never bat an eye. Hey!! Maybe I could get a part time job there!! That would be SWEET!!
Thanks to all of you who were able to attend. If you weren't able to, know you missed a great time, but you now have a whole year to save for next year, so no excuses!! Try to rally with us in MV in September 2020!!!
Love and miss ALL of you!!!!!!!

Maggie Valley was a blast. I really enjoyed meeting everyone, even Moonshine. I do think that there must be only one flat straight 2 mile stretch of road in a 100 mile range, but I was glad the motel was on it. Being a rookie flat lander, it was a learning experience navigating the twisty roads, but learned to enjoy it, and I think it made me a better rider. Thank you all for making me feel welcome. Can't wait till next year!
Thank you for the kind words Randy... just friends taking care of friends. And we are glad to be able to count you as a friend!!! Our Trike Talk family is an awesome group of people!!! We sure do have fun in Maggie Valley!

All right, you guys (and gals) are killing me here! I have missed the past two years Maggie Valley events for different reasons. Being retired and on a fixed income makes it difficult to spend money for a 4 or 5 day get-away but I am starting my piggy bank TODAY! I had so much fun the last time I was there and I didn't even get to stay at the BW rather down the street. I am so envious of all of you that got to share in the good times and especially those of you that partook in the rides thru the mountains. I think I will call the BW right now and see if I can book a room for next year. You think they'll do it?
I really enjoy reading this thread and viewing the pictures. Papa Zook, looks like you all had a great time. Next year my friend, next year.
... Made the journey (from 2 to 3 wheels) now enjoying the ride ...

Sept. 3rd was a very special day for me. My bride, Connie, was attending a Trike Talk gathering in Maggie Valley for the first time and we followed the group ride out to the site where I crashed a year ago. Visiting the site didn’t bring back any memories for me but it did give me an appreciation for what happened and how very lucky I was for going off the road precisely where I did. Before the group ride continued to Trust and some ice-cream, we all gathered round and Becky led us in a prayer of thanks.
That evening after the cookout those attending the Trike Talk gathering crowded into the hotel’s breakfast area to celebrate my recovery. The highlight of the celebration was a PowerPoint (PPT) presentation that was authored by my daughter, Kelly who put over 80 hrs. into its production. For the benefit of those in the room who couldn’t see the screen and those who were unable to attend, I have converted the PPT to a video and posted it on YouTube.
https://youtu.be/d4s0Sn3-N_U?t=7
After the PPT I was presented with one of the Tryke Flyer “T” shirts that I had seen several folks wearing earlier in the day.
I was also presented with the proceeds of the Tryke Ryder shirt sales and a Trike Talk Gold Club Member “T” shirt along with an honorary membership in the club.
Kelly had work commitments and was not able to attend but did have a video link into the festivities. The team that put this together is superb! Thank you again.
Papa Zook did a wonderful job of thanking everyone for all the right things and I’m not going to try to duplicate his effort. I do want to comment on the support I received over the course of the last year though. Get well cards started arriving while I was in the trauma hospital (where I only have a couple of bits of memory flashes), chased me throughout the 3+ weeks in the rehab hospital and continued after I got home in FL. The biggest booster during my stay in rehab was visitors.
They came from TN, NC and as far away as OH. They were from all 3 of the groups that I ride with, Trike Talk, Vulcan Riders Assoc. and Silent (Submarine) Service MC. While in the trauma hospital I was visited by my sister and her husband from Atlanta – don’t remember a bit of it! Sadly, I need to apologize to the Trike Talk folks who were at the trauma hospital. I know I spoke with you but that’s only because you and others tell me it’s true. There are two reasons I’m not recognizing anyone by name, (1) There are too many of you, the list would be very long; (2) If I forgot anyone, I would have a very hard time forgiving myself.
The two exceptions I’ll permit myself are Papa Zook and David 357. Without Papa the forum wouldn’t exist, and neither would the gatherings at Maggie, without these I would not have had the opportunity to find my place in the TT family. More importantly Papa’s leadership, caring and kindness were obvious to me from the beginning. Thank you, Randy! David has been a real stalwart from beginning to end. He was at the trauma hospital daily supporting Connie, Kelly and me (no, I don’t remember that either!). Additionally, he put up with the effects of the concussion I suffered during the numerous hours of phone communications we had and his reports of my condition to the forum were always spot on. During the period of David’s reports, I certainly could not put fingers to keyboard and have the result be coherent. I know, I tried. Even when I first posted it took lots of effort proof reading, correcting and rereading.
The bottom line is that you all were part of my recovery. It means a lot to me to be a part of the Trike Talk family. I told several folks at this year’s TT Gathering that the week was absolutely the best therapy I had all year! And, that’s the truth! I love and thank you all!

Ed, Sept 3rd was a special day for all of us that call you friend! In fact the whole week was awesome to have you and Connie with us in Maggie Valley! It was an honor to be a part of the celebration of your recovery. Becky and Kelly put a lot of time in putting the presentation together for you.
Papa Zook was right in saying you are the glue that holds our Maggie Valley group together. We all love you and are honored to count you as a friend! Continue on your journey to a full recovery my friend. See you next year!
Thank you for posting the PPT presentation video on You Tube. It is saved in my favorites!
