Lost my best friend
The world's loss is heaven's gain. While my grief is nearly unbearable, there is much rejoicing in heaven. Her mother and father and all those that went before her are welcoming her with open arms. She is seeing her Savior face to face. No more pain; no more disease; no more discomfort. She won't see the ugliness of this world but instead the beauty of the mansion He has prepared for her.
I won't complain or blame God for taking her from me. I was so blessed to have had her for forty five years. She was my rock but her gentleness changed me. Everything I did was because of my desire to please her. When there was a storm, she was the pilot of our ship. When times were tough, she was steadfast.
When we married, we became one united by Christ. We did all things together. We laughed, we cried, we went places, did things, loved, lived, raised two precious daughters, always together.
I will grieve, but I won't complain. I couldn't have asked for a better friend than the one I married. I have the memories and those I will cherish.
She gave the world her best. And many people are better for it. What a blessing she was and will continue to be, even after her final journey home.
I will see her again. ~John
