Nice. Ciro makes good stuff, a little pricey, but good. They have a powered phone mount I have been looking at.

Fuzzy, when we meet in Durango, we will have to talk about you getting a water bottle for your dog.

Any sane person knows without apposable thumbs, he won't be able to pick it up. That's just silly.

Being a sane person, I thought the same thing but didn't think it would be nice to mention it.

    Default 2" Ball

I went to my buddie John's house (the guy who I bought the trailer with the aluminum box from) to get the "bar" for my hitch drilled out to fit a 1" shank and he had a 2" with a 3/4" shaft. He wanted the 1" shaft ball because he needs one for his jeep and the 1" shaft is heavier duty. Win-win ... he used his pneumatic impact wrench and put the new 2" ball w/3/4" shaft on for me. After that, we sat around and had a cup of coffee and talked about the little trailer. He said he had always planed to re wire the trailer, but, everything was working, so he kept putting it off. He told me right after he sold it, he regretted it. I told him I would sell it back to him if he paid for for the shocks, wiring harness and the other items I had purchased. He said, nope, a deal's a deal. I'm glad, I would of hated getting rid of it.

Anyway, I did mount the bar with the 2" ball on it to the trike. I used a class 5 bolt two washers and a nylock nut to put it onto the trike. It is not 100% rattle free, but, it's a lot tighter.

    Here it is:

Next I mounted the two swivel lights I ordered. These things are cool .. the LED light bar rotates to adjust the light beam anywhere you need it.

One in the Tour pak, haven't tested it in the dark yet:

    One in the trunk:

I may take this one out and redo the velcro to make it straight. This is mounted on the back of the trunk latch inside the trunk. I thought I had it straight, but, guess not. I'll probably wait to ensure the velcro holds them before I get excited about them.

    Default Drink

Okay, so I talked about the "cheap" 32 oz bottle I bought ... turns out I love it ... with one exception. When it's on the trike for awhile, in the sun ... the sides get pretty warm ... the drink stays cold, but, the black coating gets really warm. So, I looked at my orders for the V=Ciro drink holders and the one I ordered for the from is their "Big A$$" Drink Holder.

This thing will hold a BIG drink ... LOL ... so .. I ordered a 36 oz, Yeti bottle with a straw lid and in polished stainless which should reflect more sun than the black bottle does ... I will use the black one for Harley ... I will only have to touch it once to give him water ... it will be cold .. but hotter to handle ... the side is plastic like the Yeti lid and doesn't get anywhere near as hot.

The rear mount is "Out for Delivery" right now, with UPS, could be 11 am to 8 pm ... with Fed Ex it is always between 11 am to 1 pm, with USPS it's always between 1 and 2 pm ... with UPS it's a big guess ... LOL.

Default Update on the little lights

As I feared, the sticky velcro that comes with the lights lasted until it was in the sun and heat for a couple hour ride ... both have come un glued ... I think I may just use them as a hand held ... I think the glue gets hot and "stretches" until it gives way ... the residue looks like that's the case, don't really want to glue them on with anything heavier. to support ,y theory, the little trailer's light stayed on for three days out in the sun, but it is insulated.

What about the double sided tape used for mounting emblems and such? Think its 3M? jc

I'll look into it. I also tried Gorilla double sided and it failed too. Maybe the emblem the will work.

Default Look What I Found in the Magic Garage

Needing to get the garage cleaned out and organized, I decided after I finished the roof of the truck and the wheel flares, I'd start. Hate this, but, it has it's perks.

Found a set of the Kuryakyn passenger hi way pegs ... for the CVO mounts I have ... they were on the 15 Tri ... never mounted them on the 14 Ultra (maybe I did, but, don't remember) ... today I remembered why .. LOL ... they are a pain to get on the right side. The instructions say to lower the head pipe ... not gonna happen ... LOL ... took me awhile, but, I did get them on with some difficulty. It's all about how you hold your tongue ... LOL... Here they are.

    Right:

Since I don't usually (read that as never) have a co rider that can reach these, not sure why I put them on. But, ya never know ... ... worse case, they are now out of the garage and in the wind ... .

Get some super duty Velcro. I have an organizer in the lid of my Freewheeler trunk that has been stuck there for a few years with no sign of coming off.

I got a small piece of red double sided tape from the MC shop that I used to reattach the reflector on the rear of my trike a few years ago. It's still secure.

Where did you get the super duty velcro? That sounds like it is holding up a little weight.

    Default Drink Holder

I originally went to the Ciroi Big A$$ Drink Holder because I really wanted a Vacuum insulated drink vessel that I could bring on the bike/trike/truck/the house etc. The problem that I've always had with the Butler, is the holder only holds two vessels, the 32 oz and 20 oz thermos cups.

The Ciro would hold the Yeti and Camelbak, but not really great. Hard to get them out, hard to get them in.

I finally figured it out ...

I went back to the butler holder and modified the Yeti (my favorite) to stay in the butler. I put the rubber section of a 3" expansion coupler on the Yeti ... does 2 things ... insulates my hand from the hot SS when it's in the sun for awhile .. and ... holds the Yeti from just sliding right through the 20 oz Butler holder. Bonus, I had the coupler from pool work and I still have 2, 4" hose clamps ... LOL.

    Name: Yeti.jpg
Views: 204
Size: 911.4 KB

The rubber is tight enough to not allow moister between it and the yeti and is "adjustable" (took me over an hour to get it pressed where it is ... did I mention it's tight). This allowed me to "adjust" it to allow the bottom of it to clear the fuel filler ...

Incase you are wondering ... the tan on the top of the Yeti was my first attempt to keep the SS outside cool enough to hold when it's in the sun for awhile, and to give it some texture to make it less slick. I masked off the top third and painted it with truck bed liner with a rattle can, then baked it the oven at 200* for an hour ... made it really hard.

End result, a rock solid drink holder for the 36 oz Yeti.
