Weird noise in clutch

I have installed the new rear bearing and axle. The rear end is functional. The fear brakes are fixed and not leaking . just waiting on my Honda parts for 1 lost bolt to finish putting on the left radiator. Then the body goes back on.

The new rear fenders I bought couple years ago are in the driveway getting undercoated and prepped for primer. It's all I have fight now. Then she gets her fender.

I still have the clutch to deal with. The things I was worried about were the brakes.

im considering starting a new thread entitled the new JOY. I have a neighbor who has told me that he will paint my fenders for me after I prep them. he even said if I cant afford the paint he will buy it. so JOY'S new fenders will be pink. when back together she will only need the trunk painted and a new seat. I am almost finished with the top cover. next we prep the fenders. while the undercoating is curing I will do the clutch. I am mostly sure I will need to order some body clips. I am considering having urethane bushing made to mount the fenders with also mentioned by my neighbor. some times it helps to be poor and very hurt. next update should include fender prep and clutch repair as well as engine starting.

i ordered the spacers, 1 in and 3/4 in. for the top and bottom mount. they are 2 in in diameter and solid rubber. i also ordered new washers and rubber washers to go against the fiberglass. this time they will be mounted right. i am going to have to buy longer bolts though. i also ordered a new battery. i am going to spend my waiting time doing the trunk door. it needs the license plate holes drilled as well as the light. then prime and paint all can. hope to be done soon although i realize painting will have to wait till fall. primer can always be fixed. this means after mounting i dont have to take the fenders off for painting yet. just fix the clutch and ride.

i got my mounting parts. all 2 in diameter, #4 1in thick rubber spacers for the bottom, #4 3/4in thick spacers for the top. i also got enough flat washers top mount the fenders with just them. since the flat washers go under the spacers and between the spacers and the fenders, i also got 10 flat rubber washer to cushion between each flat washer and the fenders both sides. you will next see these installed. it will be mounted right and tight.

i took the exhaust off to do the clutch. i have a battery on the way. then i can flush the gas tank. getting

close now. almost time to put her on her wheels. just gotta do the trunk door. time to stop playing. hey at least ill sweat of lbs outside.

well i ran into expected trouble, when i tried to take the clutch cover off. i could barely reach the top 2 bolts. laying on the ground just aint going to work. i also think i need to move something to give me better access to the area. im think the alternator. the whole thing needs to be raised. if we get a stimulus i can consider a table. im thinking of taking the fenders off and raising her up on her back side. yup put her wheels on and point the front end in the air. that would give me good access. if i could just figure how to raise her then hold her?

so im moving on for now. i can flush the gas tank on my own. then i will mount the fenders, then take them off, for finish prep and painting. as long as i have time.

ok its been a few minutes i looked up the alternator and starter. i think i could get the access i need without doing a real crazy thing. so i do believe ill be pulling the top cover, gas tank and alternator. thats all easy sitting work done quick. ill have that cover accessed and off soon.

ok hands who knew i would figure it out? my concern is access to the gasket surface in case it needs cleaning. wish me luck.

had an issue with the gas tank now. the pump went dry. now i got to remove the fuel pump. no biggie.

i gotta stop eating so much pain meds weed in my oatmeal. after taking out the fuel pump with the tank still in i discovered it had gas in it and would not come out that way. so upon replacing said fuel pump we took the tank out. after removing the fuel pump we emptied the tank of the flush gas i had put in. i cleaned the tank inside with a clean towel. rinsed the pump put it back together ready to use.

next we took out the alternator. wow so cool just a hole with a spline connection. the alternator is out and i have plenty room to work. i gotta skinny brush clean that up.

we got the cover off today. there was nothing obvious by eye. :gah:there was looseness and movement in the clutch lifter. we took the lifter plate off anyway and removed the lifter. still no obvious damage or wear. upon examining the rod my original decision to replace it stands obvious wear on the old one. the lifter still confused us both.;) upon examining the lifter under a magnifier i found wear.:( the decision is replace the seal, bearing, lifter and the rod. that should fix the noise. :Shrug:we will blow out the oil gallizes before assembly. i have to order a couple parts so the cover is back on and the clutch is waiting again. oh yeah the gasket came off clean on the cover. although i have a new one this existing one can be sealed back in place with a little gasket maker.:)

now on to the fenders, first mounting, then final prep and paint. making progress. there was no way i was not going to open the clutch the noise it was making is why i parked my trike in the first place.

oh yeah no obvious damage on the clutch itself.:xzqxz:

a quick update

I cleaned the gasket off the clutch cover surfaces. still waiting on clutch parts. in the process of modifying the fenders to fit under the trunk. cutting notches in it and some off the lower inside of the speaker housings. having trouble with my dremel it wont hold a charge. so i do a little here a little there. going to do 1 last test fit, then drill the holes. as long as i make progress even if its slow.

i have gotten used too being a passenger, not doing the driving. I've learned i just don't want to play will you die today anymore. the roads just are not safe anymore. i will get there and finish joy. i have to remember i can no longer walk without a walker, may no longer be strong enough to ride. still have too figure how to carry my walker. also what do i do when i can no longer walk at all, which will happen sooner than later. JOY will be finished soon.

oh yeah i still have done nothing with the trunk door. guess i should get on that?

i got my clutch parts ill be putting them in tomorrow.:clapping: i finished notching my fenders they fit great now. i don't know what I'm going to do about getting new oil. i use golden specto 4, a natural synthetic blend. only available at cycle gear here. cant find a ride to get there. no one wants to go anywhere now. my normal ride is watching hockey.:gah: so yet another stupid hold up.:gah: oh yeah the neighbor friend that said he was going to paint my fenders and buy the paint pulled up stupid the other day. told me to do it myself with cans.:mad: so i guess my fenders wont be getting painted. at least i wont have to wait for paint or any more prep. just put them on the way they are. going to use the old black door for now as well. i knew there was a reason i was not worried about the new door.:Shrug:i going to ride again enough of this stranded shit. oh yea hooked up my new battery to a battery tender it doing fine. under these conditions it just assembly now.
