    Default Waterless wash and wax

I finally got around to using this cleaner/wax product I bought back in October. I have always wondered how to keep my bike clean during the winter. I read a report on this product on a car detailing site and decided to try it. I hate riding a filthy bike.

It worked like a charm. I sprayed it on, let it soak for about 15 seconds, then wiped off (in one direction per instructions). Then once again with microfiber towels = WOW!! Looks like it just came off the showroom floor.....really.

It was about 45* in the garage. I was too chicken to try it in colder temps.

The product is called EcoSmart=RU from The Chemical Guys in L.A.

I'm also a clean freak, my bike will never see the light of day unless it's washed and waxed......I have never used that wash & wax product that you mentioned in your post, so I will gladly give it a try (thx's for your post, by the way )

I waste so much time washing "Blacky" after every ride, and sitting in garage giving her a good "waxing" every time it rains.. I put my headphones on and wax away!!!! BUT I truly do waste a lot of time cleaning instead of riding... So maybe this new product, will save me with less time CLEANING and more time to ride...Yepppppp Peeeeee!

    Thanks again,

    Ronnie

You're right about that Honda cleaner. I used it many many years ago, but I heard that they changed the formula and it does clean as good anymore. I also used the Harley cleaner/wax. That was the worst stuff I've ever used. It was real gummy. maybe I just got a bad can, but not going to take another chance.

I have used both HD & Honda spray cleaner/polish with good results.

If you want fast, quality results, try Lucas Speed Wax ($7). It can be used on everything, including the windshield. I can do the painted surfaces in 3 minutes. 1 note, shake it well for best results, I made that mistake once.

I use the "Original Bike Spirits" spray also. Works nicely on all parts of the bike and Helmet. I've used it on my visor for years and never had a problem. Bought it at a BMW dealership.

I'm only looking for a waterless cleaner not a wax, but if there is some wax in it, all the better.

It's not the cheapest but I like Bug Slide. Trikes have a lot of bug catching surface and I like the way it removes bugs. Use on any surface. Added benefit is it's a cleaner and polisher all in one. Both my Wisconsin Harley dealer and my Florida Harley dealer sell it. https://www.bugslide.com/

Wolfgang Uber. Fleabay got it. Guy named Autopia...? comes with a wash mit. You do mix it with water. I put 1oz in a spray bottle with 16 oz water. Stuffs the cats pajamas.Dont take much doing a trike. Lucas speed wax is good to. But W.U. is better. Both smell like candy- no dont drink it.

Seems there's a lot of good waterless products available. I'll keep some in mind for a tryout in the future. I still enjoy the old separate bucket wash between wheels/tires/ lower grime area and the painted/chromed body surfaces. When it's just a little dusty and needs the bugs removed, I've been using Purple Slice and microfiber towels on all surfaces. Works well on all helmet finishes and shields too.

Still a wash and wipe dry kind of guy....besides it allows me to touch her all over, and not be seen as a dirty old man.

I am a wash/wax freak..I wash my trike after every ride (or B4 every ride) and everytime it rains, I go into my garage and give "Blacky" a total wax job...

    Nothing beats that.

A waterless cleaner/wax is not to replace that. It's for using in the winter or on the road or when you just don't have the time for a full wash or have water available.

I don't like it either, that's why I spray the TG down with S100 Corrosion Protectant. Then ride all winter - wash it off in April = nice new shiny bike. No rust or corrosion. Been doing that for almost 20 years.

I'm not paying $35K for a vehicle and then storing it for 5 to 6 months every year.
