Default Do NOT Ride A 2019 Tri Glide!

    Joe, you were right...

    Don't ride a 2019 whatever you do

I was at RockStar Harley today, He had a 2017 M8 with only 1200 mi

on it, I thought I'd see how much difference to trade up to the M8 motor

Well, got on it, salesman rode with me on another TG the 107 does have better roll on,

this particular bike was pinging slightly when I gave it throttle but better than the 103

Well, we stopped, that's when I noticed he was riding a 114, so I says "Hows about letting

me ride the 19 back?" he said sure, we were on a 60 MPH road with a lot of curves

On the 2017 I had to WORK to corner it, and was always slowing down because I

didn't think it could handle it, NOT SO ON THE 2019

That revamped suspension...OMG, I was feeling WAY more confident and MUCH easier to

steer throatier motor, shifted better, braked better just MILES ahead of the older ones

Well, for now, I will keep my 2014, that 2017 was basically a 2014 with a 107 is all

I pretty much have that now

To me, after riding a 19, those new forks along with all the other ride upgrades is the star

We're going up north in 6 weeks, when we get back late Sept, I'll probably just cave and get a 19

IMO these are well worth the price...like Joe says, "Whatever you do, don't test ride one"

. I can pretty much guarantee you'll be hooked

Tbird, I feel your pain! I'll soon be closing in on my first DIY service (5,000 miles) and am still glad I traded. Coming from my 103 up to the new 114 I still have to be careful sometimes, mainly if I'm pulling into traffic to go left or right on the 2016 I could pretty much give it all the throttle I wanted, not so with the 114.

Two buddies of mine who both bought their 17's at Space Coast Harley (FL) recently told me that they heard you could get about the best deal around over there. Not sure if you would want to check with them or not when you are ready but I know when they got their new 17's they got a much better deal than I did down at Rock Star (Six Bends).

    Ride Safe.

Had my old(new) 14 in for it's 1K service. Took a 19 TG and a Limited for a test ride. Nice, but not worth $17K plus my TG. No way no how.

Maybe if I still had my old 14TG with 36K miles on it, I MIGHT consider it.....might.

I'm with you. My '14 went plenty fast for me, no need for the extra power. The suspension I had on the '14 was far superior than the stock suspension on the '19.

I liked the brakes better on the '14 and even better on the '11...but that's probably because I like to do the riding instead of a computer doing part of it for me. lol

I do like the navigation better on the '19.

There is no doubt that the stock '19 is better than previous stock models...but, I don't leave em stock.

I'll respectfully have to disagree, Kevin. I too thought the air would be better than the shocks...UNTIL I RODE ONE.

It's just the whole package is that much better. That 19 steered with half the effort than the 17 I test rode, and bumps/surface irregularities are taken a whole lot better with this new suspension. To me it's not about the power on the motor but the TORQUE. Just effortless without having to downshift. After riding both the 107 and 114 M8 TGs, I still say that M8 motor suits them much better than the 103. Now just a matter of getting the right deal on one.

Gary, 17K+ and a low mile 103 isn't a deal. They can do MUCH better than that!

Joe, I am with you on Rockstar. On phone the sales manager was going to sell me that 17 red sunglo with 1200 mi for my 34K 2014 and 5998 OTD. When I got there the price changed to 7600 OTD with a bunch of fees added. Dealers that change prices when you get there aren't ones I want to deal with. And the best he'd do on a 19 was 12,857 diff OTD. (or so he said, that may change too when comes time to write the check?)

Oh and free tires for life which he kept harping on LOL

I'll visit Spacecoast when I get back.

You guys with the 19s, I envy you. Have a great summer and miles of smiles!

The 103 is a time tested engine. Spend a couple hundred (not thousands) for a good set of TQ cams,( I just installed Andrews 57's) you will swear you just added a cylinder.

Will put my 103 up against a 114 any day.

I was referring to my '14 that I had done quite a few mods on. 14" Trike Series Shocks with Comfort Lift. Wider handlebars, AK-20 Front suspension, a Performance Plus Stage I, Cooling strategies, and a ton of other mods that I have an entire thread on HERE.

That '14 TG was better in every respect than the current new '19 TG I have, with the exceptions of the Navigation, the slightly smoother clutch, and the native low end grunt.

Of course, I will be bringing the '19 up to snuff with many of the same mods (and some different ones) that I did on my '14...and in the end I hope it will be better than my '14 was after I got finished with it.

There is no doubt, that comparing a factory '14 and a factory '19, the '19 is the same or better in almost every measurable way.

See a thread I've started on the observations and mods I'm making to my '19 in this thread- https://www.triketalk.com/forum/thre...d-observations

Default Straight Out No trade on a 2019

Gary, I talked to Tampa Harley and for a black 2019 Tri Glide with no trade they will

do $31,000.00 ++++ he said $35,000.00 OTD straight out

    That's $5,098.00 off MSRP

They're all paying the same for these, do your own due diligence and figure out what your trade would be worth. Judging by these figures and figuring out tax savings I would think you should be at no more than $10,000.00 difference OTD

KEVIN: I like what you've done and with those mods I do see where you're coming from now. Will follow your progress on the '19, that should really be The King once you get done!

I continue to get calls from a sales person at the only local dealership within 50 miles. She's determined to entice me into taking a demo ride on a 2019 Tri Glide. So far I've been unwavering in my phone replies.....no I'm not interested in a new trike.

Truth is....I'm afraid after a test ride I'd cave like a nerd for the hot cheerleader

wow you guys are scaring me. I heard people talk about their existance. In fact, I think I've seen these things you all call 2019's in a dealership in Gettysburg PA. I'm soooo afraid of taking these new ones out for a spin. I have a pretty much stock 2010 TG with about 30,000 on it so I'm not gonna get much trade in and I know if I get on a 19, I'm surely gonna have a hole in my bank book.

My last bike prior to the 16 TG was an Ultra with the 103 motor. Almost all my riding had changed to 2up so I tried the TG and after awhile actually really started liking it.

I tried a buddy's 107 TG when they came out. There was a little difference but I was sticking with mine.

When I got on the 114 though I realized how much I had been missing that extra torque and power. To me there is a huge difference between the 114 and the 103 and a significant difference in performance between the 107 and the 114.

I'm talking just totally stock motors here.

Me, I'm waiting for the new 2020 models . . . or maybe the 2021 or 2022 or 2023. There is always something better and more enticing just around the corner. And unfortunately I am as susceptible as the next guy or gal.

I’m gona stick with my 12 , unless IRS is available. Then even if that ever happens , will weigh out the situation.

    As Joe said,

Nothing made me see and feel the difference better than riding an almost new 2017

with the old suspension and 107 motor for awhile then switching as I did and riding the 19 back down the same curvy road. I agree completely with your observations (on stock vs stock) bikes. The only way for you to see how much difference there actually IS is to do that, then decide if that difference is worth x number of dollars to you. I think HD has got these solid axle Lehman trikes as sorted out as is possible for 2019. I wouldn't look for any changes for at least a few years

[QUOTE=tbird71;661440]Gary, I talked to Tampa Harley and for a black 2019 Tri Glide with no trade they will

do $31,000.00 ++++ he said $35,000.00 OTD straight out

    That's $5,098.00 off MSRP

They're all paying the same for these, do your own due diligence and figure out what your trade would be worth. Judging by these figures and figuring out tax savings I would think you should be at no more than $10,000.00 difference OTD

    QUOTE]

I don't want a black TG. I was going for the red/silver one. The dealer took off $1K from list and gave me $22K for my 14. I couldn't find a single dealer that would give me that much for my 14. So my deal isn't that much off from the dealer in Florida. Plus all the costs/hassles of getting the bike up here and registered and selling my 14. My dealer was going to help switch parts from the 14 to the 19. Which would have saved me hundreds of dollars. He did the same from my 12TG to the 14TG years ago.

Anyway, water under the bridge. I can do a helluvalot with $17K or even $10K on other things....like maybe making my 14 do wheelies! LOL

I'm happy (just installed the Pro Action shocks) - no monthly payments - especially getting ready to retire in the next couple months.

Does this dealer still have bikes in the showroom? Can't imagine they do if they are taking $5K of list price on 2019 bikes. I bet he wouldn't give me $22K for my 14.

Gary if I had that lo of mile 2014 and just had the shocks installed I wouldn't even be thinking about trading. That price quoted me from Tampa was also over the phone and for some reason prices have a way of changing when you get there (as I saw the other day)

22K is about right for your lo mile 14 on trade. Mine is probably worth closer to 20K trade with the miles, the dealer was stepping up on mine to sell a 19 I think.

I've decided to do nothing for now, we're going up north in a few weeks no point in buying a new one then just letting it sit all summer, I'll just wait until late October and see what the situation is then. It's not like there's anything wrong with mine or I don't have anything else to ride LOL. Today is VRod day.
