    Default u-joint numbers

    Good day

    I am looking for numbers for u-joint. joint from 07 ranger will not fit. was told at the auto parts store the numbers on joint say it is a conversation joint and could not find replacement.

    did they look at the 4 x 4 wheel drive. it might be different then the 2 wheel drive joint.

    Good morning

    This is what i found. the 2wd uses the same joint front and rear. 4wd uses the same rear u-joint but has a different front joint. i will go back and look at napa and see what they offer.

    This is one of those topics that once you get the part information for would be well worth adding to the pinned post about replacement parts & #'s.

    The driveshafts were fully built as we received them by an unknown company (in the old system & I can't access). Because they were fully assembled bolt in driveshafts we don't have any u-joint information on it.

    thanks Richard, do you know what the rear drive shaft pinion yoke came from. is it the stock ford pinion yoke that has been machined and re drilled to fit drive shaft yoke. rear seal is leaking and yoke is worn, need replacement

    A Stallion owner, Dean Hauser, who is a member here replaced his some time back. I forget his screen name, but if you can locate him maybe he can lead you in the right direction. Okay, his screen name is Dean H. I tried to send him a PM but it wouldn't go. I have never had any luck sending a pm to any member using the screen name here. If anybody knows the secret clue me in. Thanks.

    Just some additional information. The transmission is from a Ranger 4x4. The trans oil filter and pan is the give away on that. They are 4x4 parts. The transfer case has been removed from the rear of the trans and what looks like a custom tail shaft housing is added that is very short. This makes room for the short drive shaft to be used. I've done a trans service at 50k and 100k and that is the application parts I needed to use for the the filter service. I would not be at all surprised if the joints were also from the 4x4 application. My joints were still nice and tight at the 100k service.

    well lets see if I can explain this. ford ranger uses a u-joint that is basically round, both axis are the same length. I'll use auto zone duralast numbers, axis 1 is 3.218 in and axis 2 is 3.218 in. cap sizes are all same 1.063 dia. u-joint on stallion is a conversion joint meaning it is 3.218 in. in axis 1. to 3.622 in. axis 2. spicer series conversion 1310-1330 series. I will post numbers later with cross reference I hope

    i got my parts from napa. u-joint #UJ353, fits both front and rear. spicer series 1310 x 1330 series, moog has the same number 353. rear seal is the same for both rear ends #18136 napa skf parts

    Pretty much spot on.. The transmissions received from Ford were the 4x4 application (per MT request) no transfer case was installed from Ford. The 4x4 tailshaft was removed & replaced with a 2wd tailshaft. The 2wd transmission is a good bit longer than the 4X which didn't leave enough room for a driveshaft with the Stallion's dimensions which is why the 4x4 version was used with a swapped tailshaft.

    update on joints. front joint is still 353 number and for moog, rear joint is same size for both yokes duralast 1-0153, moog 280 forgot napa number. rear pinion companion flange and yoke are available through spicer. new complete driveline with all new yokes tubing and balancing 500 dollars.
