New owner used trike

ted welcome aboard. I would suspect that the motor is burned out and the previous owner just went with the mechanical rather then buy a new motor. They were in the 1300 to 1400 dollar range replace. rebuilding options now are more available then a few years ago. the mechanical is considered superior by most.

So I bought a 2013 tri glide it has an after market reverse on it that works of the transmission. can I still use the original reverse if i wanted to?

Welcome to Trike-Talk—Ted—👍I’m willing to bet the reverse doesn’t work that’s why the previous owner put the Mechanical Reverse in —That’s what I did 📞

I am planning on the mechanical reverse when the warranty expires. I haven't had any problems yet with electric reverse except throwing the breaker.
