1998 Goldwing with Roadsmith kit looking to purchase

I am looking at a 1998 Goldwing w/ Roadsmith conversion. for $8999.00 It has 65,000 mi. body and tires in good shape, however, the chrome is worn (it looks) as though it has been outside. I do not know at this time any particulars about the maint. or, how it runs. I know to ask about the carbs. Can you please help me in other questions that should be asked before purchase? And, is this a good price for such an old wing? Thank you all in advance of your comments.

Do you mean Roadsmith Conversion ??

If so, it is a good conversion.

If it has been a Coastal bike, salt play bad on metal, chrome and aluminum.

If it has been sitting for a while, it could develop a hesitation due to the Great Gas we are forced to swallow at the pumps. Sea Foam works wonders.

All I know so far, it has a South Carolina flag on one of the antanas, I do not know yet, if it was parked near the beach. And yes, I meant to say Roadsmith conversion; what about the price if everything checks out?

Ron, look at com parables. A late model GL1500 with 50K as a trike, they are priced between $9-15K depending on appointments and the desperation of the owner to sell it.

Roadsmith had 2 or 3 different models for the GL1500 over the past 25 or so years.

The earlier, less desire-able model, Ultimate was a very large and indestructible conversion.

I might be in the minority on this, but I liked the older body style it was different.

I wish I had the $$$ I'd like to have either one offered.

I did not purchase ....too many unknowns about former maint., and, we could not come to the original deal I had with owner on my trade in amount. I will keep looking. It is in The LORDs hands....where it should be. IMO

After talking it over with my wife, we have decided to wait until car is paid off and buy a new ( 2022 by that time), Goldwing with a Roadsmith kit, automatic.
