Just wondering? On a road trip how many miles a day do you ride on average? Don"t know if I'm a Candy A**
or Iron A** LOL

Words of wisdom from an old Western writer:
Too often I would hear men boast of the miles covered that day, rarely of what they had seen. Louis L'Amour
On a multi day trip ... I plan on ~400 miles ... if it's a one day trip, I will do 500-550 miles.
Of course ... if your doing 70 mph you can do more miles than if you are on roads that the limit is 50-60 mph.
I plan on about 8 hours a day. I also plan using the 75% rule (this assume you only stop for fuel and rest room). If the speed limit is 70 mph, you will do 52.5 miles for every hour your on the road. Or put another way, you'll average 52.5 mph or 420 miles a day. Or if the limit is 60, you'll get 325 miles a day.
I will always plan 2 hours for every 100 miles. In an 8 hr day that is 400 miles. towards then end of the day I may not make that much. At 72 that is more then enough.

I normally go about 400-500 a day, but don't feel the pressure to stick to any schedule, usually.
I have some strange quirks when I travel. I like to stop before dark, I always fill up at night & do my checks in the morning when the bike is cool.
I also ride for 45 min. to an hour or so, before breakfast.

Just got the trike in September, so no long trips yet. But on the Ultra Classic we were doing 650 miles if it was nice day 550 if the day sucked... It was our first day out going to Sturgis. We did it every time for 26 years... Nothing to See in Iowa or Minnesota. So we ran 75 to 80 all day...
Probably still do 550 on the trike... We dropped the extra 100 miles about 4 years ago. There wasnt anything around the second camp ground anyway. Gave us more time in Mitchel to eat and roam around... It was about a 10 to 11 hr day... We took our time. But the bike went the speed-limit plus Afraid at that speed on the trike wed be stopping for gas all the time. I was getting about 33 mpg pulling my Bushtec two up
33 mpg, two up pulling a Bushtec, not too shabby I'd say.....
milage per day, that a good ? Darlene and I have done 700 a time or 2 and 500 a number of times, but as I get older I really like 350 or so. it makes a easy day. on the road around 8:00 am ride 200 miles have lunch ride till 3 or 4 and look for motel. a day like that and you can stop and smell the roses a little. with that being said if we are in a hurry the only way to make time is to stay in the saddle longer.
The most Becky and I have done two-up in a day was 600 miles... prefer the 300 to 350 range to be able to take our time and enjoy the trip.
