Tornatos & Prayers and trip plans

Man ... I don't remember weather and tornados like this is a long while (or maybe I just am more sensitive to it now for reasons below) ... if you are in the path, please be safe.

Sending all my prayers and hopes for all in these areas of storms.

I've been planning a trip, probably in the fall or late summer. I gotta say ... lots of folks have reached out and wanting to meet with me on this trip (which I love by the way) ... I hope and pray that everyone remains safe. Scary as I plan this ... the areas I learn about and look into things that could be done in some of these areas, it seems that lots of them are now in the path of destruction.

My plan was to leave early in the mornings (I usually wake around 4-4:30) and stop before the heat of the afternoon. That would give me some time to "investigate" some of the local "color" in these areas. I have been planning about 8 hours a day on the road, so if I leave 5 am, and you add 2 hours for fuel and feeding the face, photo stops, etc., I'll be stopping around 3 pm ... so so time to sight see. Not sure yet if I'll be triking the whole trip or tike on the trailer and driving the truck, but, the routine will probably be the same.

I've been looking for places with kewl names, kewl stuff to do and just sounds like a bit of fun. Places like Choctaw, kewl name, not sure what's there ... LOL. I've also been looking for places that have KOA's (or similar) with cabins ... cheap night stay while on the road ... Not sure what all I'm gonna end up with.

So, as I plan this trip, I learn about places that are pretty much destroyed now ... Please, Please if you are in these areas, keep safe.

When I lived in Kenosha, Wi. (actually Pleasant Prairie, but, nobody's heard of that ... LOL), my ex wife and I had what they called a micro burst, hit the next to our house. The wall closest to the "burst" ended up Lord knows where ... we were fortunate ... the civil alert sirens went off and we where in the basement. Lots of work to restore the house, but, we were fine. I was so "un informed" that I wasn't that scared, until the "freight train" (that's what it sounded like) came through our house. It was a very attention getting experience, to say the least.

Couple that with the flooding and loss of power, etc., it's just heart breaking to see this happening.

I was that guy that see's the news coverage and said, "Man that's bad", then went back to my coffee. When I see the news now, I realize there are "real" people who's lives have been devastated by these storms, I still go back to my coffee, but, now my heart goes out to them as well.

Please, Please, Please, be safe if this is happening in your neck of the woods. My prayers are with all of you. If you are in the path ... please chime in an let us know that your safe.

I know the flooding is going to be near historic. The projected crests are within a few feet of the 1993 flood levels, which were very bad. There are over a 100 roads closed in the bi-state area.

Once you live through a flood you never really get over what it can do to you and your loved one's. 1996 our new house was all but destroyed with a flood. Periodically we still get water in our back yard, it is in the Lords hands our faith is in him and him alone. Prayer is answered believe me we know. stay safe Fred/Jeanne
