Day 10 continued-
A couple more photos of the lake...
...where we stopped for a little snack.
Back rolling, it was not long before we came up on a Park Ranger. About dead center of this photo you can see a bear. A bit out of the photo the ranger was doing something with another bear.
National Parks are a no-fly zone for drones. So we headed out of the park to this spot...
Put the drone up in the air...
...then did a little riding. But somehow we pushed a wrong button and all the riding footage is badly out of focus.
Headed back into the park...
...just amazing...
...the views are spectacular...
...and the road is nice too...
...looking back or forward!
Day 10 concluded in next post.

Day 10 concluded-
We had seen a little dirt road off the 191 that runs thru the National Park.
Just a little portion of the road curves out of the park...
...we headed back there to get some more drone footage.
This footage is in focus...
...this is as close to the Tetons you can legally get with a drone.
It's about time to wrap the day up. as we head back into the park...
...rain is threatening...
...we got a few sprinkles, then got clear of it.
Fantastic day!
Back at our home on wheels.
Time to load up and go spend 7 days with family....no riding.
Here is the view from our home on wheels this evening, in a rest stop, on our way to Meridian, Idaho.
Video of our day in GTNP-
Kevin
Beautiful pics! Liked the video! Definitely an awesome part of the country to spend time in!
"I don't need a map. I still have a road in front of me!"
Headed to Rocky Mountain National Park-
After spending 8 days with family in Idaho and Yellowstone (sans bike), we left Idaho for the Rocky Mountain National Park for a couple of days of riding!
Running thru Idaho, we cut across the northeast corner of Utah...
...and into Wyoming.
We spent the night in a rest stop, it had a great view of some buttes, but the only photos we took were of the prairie dogs right next to us. lol
Got up the next morning, excited to be in the Rockies...
...this is what we saw while still in Wyoming.
We checked the weather, and where we are headed had 6 inches of snow last night, and it is still snowing!
It is snowing a bit on us in Wyoming this morning!
We talk about maybe by the time we get there it will be done snowing...
...but as we climb a pass, getting near Colorado...
...it is 33 degrees, we can't see, and we ditch the idea of riding in the Rockies over the next couple of days.
Instead, we decide to ride some in the Ozarks. So we pass thru...
...Colorado.
Still have a big chunk of Kansas and Missouri to get thru to get to the Ozarks.
Since we aren't riding in the Rockies, we've decided to ride the highest mountain in Arkansas... Mt. Magazine.
Kevin
Last Day Riding-
After running thru most of Kansas and a good part of Missouri and Arkansas, we found a Park & Ride right off Interstate 40, closest to Mt. Magazine and only 5 miles from the head of the Pigs Trail.
We unloaded the bike...
...and head toward Mt. Magazine...
...it's about an hour ride to get there...
...and we thoroughly enjoyed...
...every curve in the road!
Here is a map to give a bit of an idea of the road...it goes up to the top of the mountain, and then down the other side. Some sections of the road are 18 degrees!
We went up the slightly straighter side (from the north) and right on down the crooked steeper side.
It was a blast...
...I've ridden here before, but it's Mary's first time.
Continued in next post.
Kevin
Last Day continued-
We then went back up it...
Oh, here's a nice welcome sign-
...enjoying all the curves...
...again, from a different angle.
Not the Rockies, but a fun road for sure!
We stopped at this sign, which is across from a scenic outlook...
...Time to get out the drone...
...Amazing...
...the change in perspective.
Time to...
...come back...
...and ride some more.
More coming as time allows.
Kevin
Lovin' the drone shots this year Kevin!
"I don't need a map. I still have a road in front of me!"
We'll be looking forward to seeing it!
"I don't need a map. I still have a road in front of me!"
Last day continued-
We've had 3 different deer run across the road in front of us on Mt. Magazine...this is the best photo we got of one of them.
Riding around the top of the mountain...
...enjoying the roads, woods, scenery...
...it really is nice up here.
We stopped at another scenic lookout...
...decided to eat our lunch there...
...absolutely....
...spectacular views.
Taking a break while walking back up to the bike.
Back down the mountain, across some farmland, heading back...saw this sign...I would guess so!
Getting close to the Pigs Trail...more in next post.
Kevin
Last Day Continued-
We've seen some bad flooding in Missouri and Nebraska on this trip. Arkansas has some also...
...thousands upon thousands of acres of farmland underwater. Up ahead, to the right...that is NOT supposed to be a river, that is farmland, all underwater.
Crossing the actual river now...
...we're going to take Interstate 40 for about 5 miles to get to the Pigs Trail.
Ever since the snow...
...been thinking about riding this road...
...don't know how many times we've ridden it, a bunch...
...but it is tons of fun every time!
Here we go!
This is a fun road!
Will post more as time allows.
Kevin
Last Day continued-
A fellow traveler...
...enjoying this great riding road!
Fun ahead sign!
Looks like more than a few cars had a bit of trouble.
I'm thoroughly enjoying this trail.
Mary took 874 photos today...
...I am only going to post a few more...
...tractor in road...
...always gotta be on the lookout. Beautiful road, but could be hiding any number of critters...
...only 10 more miles or so before we turn around to head back.
Last day concluded in next post.
Kevin
Last Day Concluded-
This trip is coming to a close...
...enjoying this last hour or so on the Pig Trail...
...fantastic day of riding, and Mary caught this squirrel zipping across the road!
Can't tell you how much fun...
...it is to ride...
...in these parts...
...if you have not made it to the Ozarks, it is filled with roads like this. Give it a go if you can.
Back to the Park & Ride. Time to head home.
Coming soon! Ride Report as we head to the most North Eastern piece of land in North America, ride a 17 hour ferry to get to an island near iceberg alley, and much more!
Kevin
Awesome pics and great videos! Thanks for sharing your trip with all of us Kevin & Mary!
