The son-in-law has run into a snag putting the 56 panhead back together, evidently somewhere in the 70's someone put on a hydraulic rear caliper. It's a Hurst Airheart caliper, does anyone know of any shop he could get it rebuilt at ? So far he's not having any luck around the Chicago area.

Yep, already did that, Tony is very computer savvy, I think it's late and he's getting tired, he's been working on the bike all day, not thinking. Just thinking that maybe some of the old wrenches here might have knowledge of a local shop that specializes.

Gary,

There are still parts out there. Those were used in racecars (small) motorcycles and go-karts.

If it is leaking or frozen, he needs to get it apart to see if rebuilding could be possible.

Measure the piston(s) and thickness of the o-rings might also help in finding a kit.

Look for wear !!!

If you can put fuid in it. It may work enough to pump the piston out. Just keep pumping and adding fluid till the piston falls out. Those things seldom have enough miles on to wear out. The biggest worry is usually corrosion causes pitting. You can see its been seized up because someones beat the hell out of it. If the o ring is still good make sure you remove it and clean the groove behind it.
