I understand where you are coming from, yes it is old, but it looks like it is brand new, most people can't believe how old it is, I take care of my vehicles as most people do, my dealer has been trying to get me to trade up to a new one for many years and I say no. It is a step side/sport side which ever you want to call it and it was the last year they made them in 2005. This is my 3rd step side and will be my last, very low miles and very good gas mileage, if fits for what I use it for. And with full coverage I have I don't have to worry about a wreck and coming out of pocket expenses to fix this truck, which I hope never happens, never have had a wreck with a vehicle, motorcycle is a different story, had 2 of them.
All for now Trampas
The condition it's in & how you take care of it means nothing to the insurance company. Like paws said, when its that old, in an accident, they will total it and look in a book & not give you anything much.
I understand loving an older vehicle, I have a 2004 vehicle I bought new & love it.
They do not care about our love of a vehicle & a good insurance agent would tell you that it's not cost effective.
