i was recently contacted by a member here asking if I was going to go. To be honest, I didn't know anything about it. Looked into it and we set up a meeting today. I've never met a TT Member I didn't like, and that includes Bob (V4bob49). When I got to the rally location Bob came down ands we talked trikes and lots of other stuff. His lovely wife was taking a shower so we had a little time before he went and gathered her up and brought his trike down. Bob has a 2015 White and Blue Tri that he's had some custom paint done to. If you would of told me a white and Blue tri with purple ish "smoke" or flames. I wouldn't't of thought that would look good. But it is very well done and they've had the painter add some purple flake to the blue, so, depending on how the sun hits it, it might look blue or might look purple. Here's a pic, hope he doesn't mind I post it ...
... but I really like the look.
So after awhile he went and got his wife and trike. He was having some weird issues with his trike. All of them sounded like electrical oddities to me and a couple of them resembled a series of issues that turned out to be a loose fuse for the radio on my 14 Limited. Apparently it was causing electrical fluctuation the can bus didn't like. Anyway, he checked the fuses and sure enough, the radio fuse was loose. We decided to go for a ride and see if we could find my hotel and see if his trike still had the issue.
I don't know if anyone has been to Colorado "SKI" towns, but, they have lots of ordinances that minimize the size of signs. Makes the town look quaint, but, hard to find stuff. Even the trikes GPS couldn't find the address and we ended up going East on I70, then coming back at the next exit.
I finally pulled into a Wendy's and we had lunch and talked. His trike did not have any of the issues it was having, so maybe it was the simple thing.
After lunch, Bob and his wife headed back to their hotel and I went on the search for mine again. Turned out I was about 4 doors down from it when we ate. LOL
Next I realized that Gary (GoSlo) had called while we were riding, so I called him and we agreed to meet back at the rally. He came down to the parking lot and took me up to where his buddies were. Nice guys. Today was the meet and greet day and they had beer, burgers and dogs for sale. Since I just ate, I just yakked with Gary for a bit. They were getting ready for something called "the drunken tricycle games". Apparently they have some bigger rental tricycles and they race through a obstacle course and get these guys that are a little tipsy to do fun stuff. Sounded like fun, but, I wanted to get to my room before dark, so we said our goodbyes and I headed out. Picked up some chicken at KFC, filled the trike and headed to my room.
On a side note, the Fat Bottom Girl ran great, cool and fairly quiet. From Grand Junction to Eagle, about 120 miles, I got 35.78 mpg at 75 mph. I'm Jazzed. From Eagle to Breckenridge and the days riding, about, 110 miles, I got 38.74 mpg. This was mostly at 65 mph, but, climbing over the Rockies. All in all, I'm pretty happy with my tuning.
Heading home in the morning, want to get back before all the heat.
