Cost for 10000 mile oil change and checkup

Can someone tell me what they are charged for this service at their dealership

My dealer if you bought the bike new from them the 1k and the 5k there is no labor charge....So it was under 2 hundred [170/180 $] for each service....

That said if you are handy with a wrench you can do your own service and save $$$$$

Besides the fluids being changed a lot of the first service is a check list

If you decide to do your own service keep GOOD records

Also, this will NOT void your warranty despite what some dealers may tell you

He asked about the 10k service. Not the initial 1k. In any case your response is correct and I do it all myself. Absolutely hate to take it to the dealer unless it is for warranty work. These 'services' are a major rip off imo.

My dealer is around $500. Like Jack said, its a checklist, just go down the list. Don't know what year Tri you have, but the actual fluids in the 3 holes/oil & air filter & the brake fluid flush is the most critical. I pretty much keep the checklist going year round, checking tightness of critical fasteners.

I'm not a mechanic & I do it. It's much less daunting to me to break it up a piece at a time.

Dwayne had his 1000 mile (not 10,000 mile) service done a week or so ago. Dealership was going to charge him $450, instead he went to an Indy shop that is authorized to do HD Warranty work. Cost was $150.

I know it's not a TG, but there is very little difference in the services between a two wheeler and a 3 wheeler.

I do my own and keep records.

If you have the tools and time and garage to do your own work - that's GREAT. But if you don't have any of those, you have to take it to a mechanic.

I always use to pay at time of service - not anymore. I get a prepaid service contract and save hundreds of $$$ plus a new battery at the end of the 4 years. $2150 for 4 years and unlimited miles. I usually get 2 services per year (12~13k miles per year).

My dealer charges $495 for the 10K service.
