The HD kit is fine and good quality. The only deficiency it has imo is that it is not wide enough to cover the fenders properly. I installed it myself and was pleased with it but after several road trips I had picked up some rock pecks on the fender just outside the edge of the film. So I went to an automotive installer and had him remove the HD film and replace it making it much wider. Now that is difficult as the fenders curve on the inside and the outside but he was able to get much more of it covered that what the HD kit did.

2024 Tri Glide! Only modifications so far - transferred Rider backrest from old 2015 Freewheeler, just added highway pegs!

If the quote goes way outside my budget, then the fender protection will have to wait. Whatever it is for the front I think will be worth it, tired of trying to fix the paint dings which never works.
Did you get your trike done yet.Where is he located in Winterhaven.

    Thanks in advance

I've not been there yet, but still plan to go, just been too busy. It's JC Customs, 515 5th St SW, Winter Haven. Give a post here if you get by there and see what they have to offer and I'll do the same.

    Default Braless

I just recently bought a '12 TriGlide with about 11,000 mile. It has Harley stock bras. I have though about taking them off. The edges of the bras have scratched the fenders all under their edges. I may try some more to rub them out.

I had a Suzuki C90 trike that I put over 50,000 miles on it with no fender protection. Very few small nicks in paint on the C90. Touched up with paint on the end of a toothpick.

Anyway, I wouldn't recommend anything over the fenders.

I agree with you 100%. Except the 3M film is great - doesn't damage the paint - can be removed & reapplied - doesn't cost a fortune - let's you see the beautiful Harley paint job. If you're somewhat handy, you can even do it yourself - I did.

Agreed. I wish the previous owner had use the 3M film. Probably would not have cost any more than the bras if he had paid to have it done.

The HD paint protection was a PIA when I used it but I do recoccomend some sort of protection on the rear fenders.

Yikes, that is sky high....I'm not interested at that price. I'd go with Tank Slapper, they have a kit that will fit most GWs and HD conversions I think. Looks like a not too difficult do it your self, and then figure out something for the fenders. Tank Slapper will probbly send you the size you need if you give them the dimensions of th cut you want.

I understand the need to want to protect the paint. I did it on my other TG's.

I bought my own 3M film and will put it on my newest TG this summer. I'm sure as hell NOT going to spend that kind of money(over $100). I paid $58 for enough film to do my fenders and have enough left to re-apply 4 or 5 more times. I'm really not that anal to worry about some chips in the paint. Now, if I lived where all the roads were unpaved, I would do something else - except use a fender bra. I personally hate those.

Putting the film just on the fenders is pretty easy - even I can do it. The fairing is a real PITA and I wouldn't even attempt it.

Gary where did you purchase your film. And what width did you get. The film for the fenders in the H-D PPF kit is not wide enough. I got some chips on the fender just outside the edge of the PPF. Interested to re-do with a bit wider film.

Agree 1000% with these people. Al and the gang have a great product and better customer service. Have ran their SeeThroughBraz product on my '13 for 6 years with no problems.

Also use their Velcro mounting system on my saddle bags. Have NEVER had one come loose or move around and no holes drilled in my outer fenders.

www.invisablemask.com is where I last bought some. If I remember I bought 24" wide x 60" long and it was around $58 but that was a while ago. I can't remember the thickness though.

Anybody doing this clear film, I highly recommend doubling the bottom 8" or more on the front of the fenders. The paint shop that repainted my left fender twice suggested that. I also know that anything less then 12" wide is not enough. My first trike was an 11. I bought a kit & installed it. The kit was aprox. 8" x 24" it was easy to install, but only because it did not cover the radius on the fender. I had a few chips just outside the coverage area. Once I had it repainted I paid an installer to do what I suggested above. Aprox. 200-250 Well worth it to me. I have had 3 trikes & I did all of them that way & have not had any more chips. I'm getting a new 20 the first of spring & that will be one of the first things I have done.
