So the GPS/Camera/Phone mount came today. This thing is as well made as the other Ciro Products I have installed. It has a weird "offset" that took me awhile to figure out. The offset allows access to the thumb screw that you could use to mount a camera to it via the tripod mount. I don't like the offset because the GPS will not sit centered now. I'll get used to it. Now if you are mounting it to a GoPro ... the "offset" is actually aligned in the center ... you'll see what I mean in the pics.
I just mounted the GPS dock to it and test fit it to the dash ... I think it will work well. I need to wire the 2 connector plug so i can power the dock.
Here's the pics:
The last pic shows the offset.
I realized I had not posted a pic of the 36 oz yeti in the holder:
Like I said ... it doesn't get to the bottom, but, it's not going anywhere.
Fuzzy
Is that the BIG A$$ cupholder or the standard size?
I have both on my trike

So with the dash mount. I will be able to put the Zumo GPS, or either my big phone or little phone with the phone mount at the dash.
The GPS now has a cigarette lighter plug on it that can be used to to power it via the 12v faring plug. Either phone can use a lightning connection via the usb thing in the door. I lean to the little phone on trips. It charges as it plays audio books via the usb connection. The XS max doesn't .. dumbest thing apple ever did. I love the screen, size and volume of the big one ... don't need the glasses or aides as much ... so I may throw the big phone in the tour pak on a trip and use the little phone like an iPod. Switching phones is simple, just swap the sim card.
Here's the phone mount:
This thing, like all the Ciro products I've purchased is a beast. Very sturdy and when you look it down, it isn't going anywhere. If I had to ding it for anything, I would of liked it to have the socket for the mount more towards the bottom of the mount ... this would move the phone higher so less obstruction of the dash, but you can see the speedo and the tack just fine ... only time I would be using anything on this dash mount is on a long trip, so mostly with the cruise set so that's not a big deal. Putting it lower might have affected the balance and made it harder to keep still with the ball and socket mount.
I still have a camera mount coming that I hope to be able to mount the rear GoPro on ... LOL ... might need a FCC License to operate all this ...
Okay ... so I love the Ciro drink Big A$$ holder, but, I pushed the limits I think. I put a 36 oz Yehti SS water bottle in it and after awhile I noticed the ball wasn't staying tight. I would tighten it up and it would come loose. I took the drink holder off and one of the four plastic pieces that clamp down on the ball had cracked, allowing the threaded collar to loosen up.
I decided to go back to the Butler for awhile. And my mount for the GPS. They are tried and true ... since there's still a chance for a Kerrville trip in 5 weeks or so, I'm gonna stick wit. what I know works for now.
