Well I got my Lady torn down for mods and paint. She is a 98 Valkyrie that was rear ended when I bought it, so had to cut off everything from the seat back and refab. Have had her for about two years now and really not finished anything so I decided to give her a face lift and some new parts. Bought some 6 degree trees from VTExtreme and installed them. Not a bad do it yourself job. New chrome for the rear end which is a 7.5 Mustang that I cut down to 34 inches with disk brakes. Now all I need is some warmer days to get to the paint. I will post pictures when finished. Then I can get started on my wife's 2000 Valkyrie with 6 degree trees and matching paint. I hope to have them both up for a run to Laughlin in March.

Looks like a great job on puting together a trike. I would be interested to see how you connected the bike's drivetrain to the rear end. Could you post either a description or pics of the way it is connected? Thanks. And good luck with the rest of the build.

Lovin' that rear end!! That thing should be practically indestructible on a trike!!

How did that big heavy trike handle without being raked? My vtx 1300 isn't raked, and it doesn't matter to me. But a Valkyrie is a good bit heavier.

Like I said its a 7.5 Mustang with 2.72 gears. 2500 rpms at 65 mph and I know it will run over 120. ( Just to check stabilty you know) I took the stock swing arm and cut off the frount cross section with the baring set up. Then figured what length I wanted. 4 in. longer than stock. Took 2x3 tubeing to make the swing arm and 3/8 plate for end plates. Cut and welded 2x3 channel on the axel houseing. So I could bolt the swingarm to the axle. Whole thing was a pain in the ass. Trying to get everything square,straight and level all at the same time. It would have been alot easier to put the pumkin off set but that is not what I wanted. I like it centered because it can be seen. If you plan on running a body I would do it the other way. I have used the stock frount u-joint and drive line. But had to fab a collor for the back end to couple to the stock Ford u-joint. That way I can get replacement parts. I am still using stock shocks just had to make brakets to hang them.

kj5ix She is on her way back together. Had the whole frount end off to change trees and I had to cut the shield to get it to fit the way I wanted. What are you doing to yours. Post some pictures when you get her dressed again.

Steve. When I built it I did not know about the trees. 2 years now. And my wife has a 2000 Valk that I built about 8 years ago. Then about a year ago I started reading on this site about the trees so now I bought 2 sets and will post on what the difference is. Both my wife who is on the small side and myself did not think that thay handled all that bad. But this is my first trike and this is the first bike that she has ever driven so we do not know any better.
