A few years ago we rode the most western road in Canada. (see that Ride Report HERE)

This year we're riding to the most Northeast piece of land in all of North America...which happens to be right at the edge of Iceberg Alley.

Pretty stoked about this trip. Never been to the eastern part of Canada, nor on a 17 HOUR ferry ride, nor across an 8 Mile Long bridge, nor etc., etc.

This is going to be a trip of a Lot of Firsts!

Here are a few maps of our rough plans-



17 Hour Ferry ride to Newfoundland Island



Circling Newfoundland Island and "only a 6 hour" ferry ride back to Nova Scotia.



In the interest of Time, Finances, & ease of accommodations, the Tri-Glide is in our "home on wheels" until we reach where we really want to ride.

Before getting to Nova Scotia we stop by and see DJ and George at Pro-Action Suspension-

One more stop before we set up camp, unload the TG, and start riding-

Hopewell Rocks...



This place is crazy, google it...



...half the day, where we're standing, is underwater.



Finally, we're in Truro. This is where the Ride Report start!

Day 1-

Left out of Hopewell Rock area. We stayed at this Apple Orchard...



...quiet and peaceful place that welcomes camping...



...near the Bay of Fundy.



...heading toward Truro, which will be our base camp for the next couple of days.

Arriving at the Scotia Pines Campground early this afternoon...



...then left to explore...



...some of the country roads in the area.



We have no plan...



...other than to explore the countryside...



...and be back at camp before dark.



This was a great twisty road that turned to gravel...

Day 1 Concluded-

The woods and miles of road...



...are seemingly endless...



...we will need to come back up here to do them justice.



Mary in the Mirror-



We have no real idea where we are in relation to camp, but it looks like rain is coming...



...so we punch in the address of camp to the GPS and choose the fastest route back...



...which gets us on Highway 102, straight thru a 15 minute rainstorm. lol



Back at camp, the rain has passed.



Getting everything ready for an early start tomorrow...



...ride to ferry, then around PEI, then back the long way via Confederation Bridge.

I don't see it on your maps and I can't seem to google a map of the layout of the entire area - so am asking this question blind..don't know if it is even in your travel area.

I would like to suggest when you are in Nova Scotia take a day and ride the Cabot Trail. Ride safe!

Yes, it is more expensive than in Mississippi...but I don't know that it is a lot more than some parts of the USA, like Cali or some places in the Northeast.

It is purchased by the litre in Canadian dollars, so it is not an easy computation at the pump. But it works out to around USD 4.15 a gallon for premium. In Mississippi we pay between $2.75-$3.00 a gallon for premium (93 octane)

Nope, Oak Island is southwest of Halifax in Nova Scotia. We are staying more north east of Halifax in our travels. Maybe next time!

Yes, we could have gone earlier in the year and increased our odds of seeing icebergs, but we wanted to be in a bit warmer weather, but NOT hot weather.

Day 2-

It rained pretty hard last night (ceramic coating is beading up nicely )...



...but sunny now, and we are up early...



...leaving out thru some puddles...



...once on the road, all is dry.



We have about an hour ride to the ferry terminal...



...and we need to be there by 8:30 am.



Having never traveled this road before...



...we give ourselves an extra 30 minute cushion...



...we arrived an hour after leaving...



...did not need the 30 minute cushion, but better safe than sorry.

Day 2 continued-

We have a 75 minute ferry ride...



...here we go...

We're parked up front, and surrounded by semi's!

Mary likes ferry rides, this is the first of 3 we have planned on this trip.

Day 2 Continued-

We're underway...



...pretty soon it is just water and ships...



...no land to be seen. It is about 27 kilometers, shore to shore.



Before you know it we are seeing a Lighthouse on PEI.



Time to unload...



...here we go!



We're on Prince Edward Island...



Mary wants to go see a Lighthouse. So we head toward the southeast corner of the Island.



But first we need some gas!



Ok, now we have a full tank...off to our first Lighthouse. Cape Bear!

...instead of a bridge to the Island we cross a causeway that has a beach along one side of it.

Day 2 Continued-

Walked around a bit...



...fantastic views...



Headed back across the strand. Even though it is barely 70*, the road is packed with beach-goers. For folks that live 8-9 months a year in sub-freezing temps, this is really warm weather for them!



We went and saw 3 or 4 more Lighthouses...



...before Mary had her fill...



...I'm just enjoying the riding. Every now and then we pass thru a town...



...or a harbor...



...but mostly it is farmland. They grow a lot of potato's here...something like 12% of the workforce on the Island work in the potato industry!

And there's still a lot of woodland too...



After wandering around the eastern/northeastern part of PEI we decide to cut southwest, toward Charlottetown...



...it was a long, mostly straight shot...

Day 2 Continued-

We hit Charlottetown hungry!

This looked like a good place!



And it was. We had a great meal, and some doggie bags for later.

...it's about an hour ride to the bridge, some farmland, and a lot of small towns.



Arriving at the entrance...

...a few places are still serious about drivers paying attention to their driving!



This bridge is amazing...



...at 8 miles long, I believe it is the longest bridge we've ever ridden!

I spent the last few evenings , reading through the trip report following the front wheel,that you posted in June 2016. I enjoyed it and my wife and I traveled to many of the same places starting the last week of June in 2016.i will be looking forward to more of your trip report.
