2017 tri glide 5000 miles was putting new mufflers on saw that this was touching frame. I had just put on lift kit brackets less shocks. This might have been this way since new I don't know, muffler lines up and is straight.Any thoughts?? Hope picture comes thru.

THANKS

JOE

Hi Joe,

Welcome to the forum!

Looking at your photo...this is not unusual for the 2017 and up models. HD is making larger than normal weld beads on the exhaust and it usually has the swingarm barely touching that weld bead.

Once you get the tires on the ground, and some weight on the suspension, that swingarm will lift up off the bead.

Some folks will takes just a little (1/16"-1/8") of the extra metal off the bead with a file or grinder...but there really is no need for that.

We actually have a video that covers this that will be published later this week on our Youtube channel...it will probably be on Friday.

Here is a link to our Youtube channel, if you want to take a look sometime after this coming Friday.

Hi Joe,

Don't know if you've looked at the video I mentioned that was coming out. (I've put it below)

It is now out. The part of the video that addresses the weld bead on the exhaust is at the 2:30 mark.

Hope you find it useful.
