Good for you!
After a year and 8K miles on a sidecar rig and another two years and 24K miles on the Shadow Trike, I thought I might enroll in a Trike Driver School. Do you know how hard it is to find one in Eastern NC? They don't exist.
But, I did find one at Tidewater Community College in Virginia Beach. Sent them an application and credit card number for their Advanced Sidecar and Trike Safety Program and got accepted for the 17 April one day course.
Will let ya'll know how it turns out and what I learned that I was doing right and what I was doing wrong.
Good for you!
Not to be a no it all. As I learn every day of my 60 year old life. But I would like to do the same as you. But what makes a person a Trike instructor. You have 8K on a Hack Rig and 24K on a Trike. On a sidecar rig yes There a different animal. As I have a 06RKC with 07TLE. The Trike is easier to master. As I have a 09 TriGlide. For me it's less work on the Trike.
The sidecar rig is wider and the hack will fly. Also the side car rig will pull left to right on accel or decel or hard braking. Trike wont do that. Trike will plow the front wheel on a sharp fast turn. Ive yet to lift a rear wheel. But it can be done if riding a tight circle faster and faster till you get it to lift. If going from two wheels with the mcsc and advainced riders course. To a trike or side car rig the difference is size were to place your self on the road and handling. Would like to hear from you when course is completed. PS.
When Harley Davidson dealers have the Demo Rides. You have to view a video, do a test ride in the parking lot around some cones. Then you can go for the demo ride. So Iv'e been told.
Calman, that is great let us know how it goes..By the way GWRRA gives trike classes at their rallies. But they usually fill up fast...
Tri-Glide, any education is better than none... sometimes the classes bring out things U don't think about, and maybe even some bad habits U might have.. I agree with U riding and getting more miles is very important for the learning curve...
