2015 Freewheeler Plasti-Dip fenders

I finally got around to doing the rear fenders with Plastidip. Pretty damn happy with the results. Going to let them cure for a couple days, then touch up a couple rough edges, rub off a bit of overspray, etc....

I did mine a few years ago and last time I looked, the edges are starting to peel.

The good thing about the stuff is it can be removed fairly easily and redone, or not, if/when one feels the urge for change...

I did mine a few years ago and last time I looked, the edges are starting to peel.

It's my understanding that there's a solvent mixed in, which makes sense considering it's liquid rubber, basically. So for your fraying/peeling edges... you *might* be able to just mask as appropriate and spray again, might melt the peeling edges and re-adhere as it dries. Worth a shot!

FYI to anyone interested... took her up to my dealership for a weekend hooha (Guardians of the Children fundraiser). About 100 miles roundtrip, hot and not too humid. Speeds up to a little under 80. No peeling or any other issues after about five days of cure time. Probably would have been good after a day or two, just tied up with other things. Pretty damn happy with the looks!

Yeah that looks good against the orange. That plasti- dip brings out the artist in folks. I remember when it was rare. Sold via mail order from ads in Popular Mechanics. Now Wally World stocks it in dip and spray. I used the black spray to cover a masked off rectangle on the left side cover. My boot when mounting always scuffs/ scratches it up. I use the left passenger foot rest to mount the trike. No more having to buff it out now.

Took her out for about 300 miles last Friday. Got a little peeling on the leading edge down below, not a big surprise. I'll just make a portable mask (cut about a two inch square out of the middle of a large piece of cardboard) and do some touchup shots as needed after I clean the surface with a little Dawn suds. Still pretty happy with the results!

I did the same thing with a bed liner spread. I did like you all the way a cross. form a distant it looked like the fender was cut of square. I had a body man remove some form the out side, just a 2 " on top and to 1/2" on bottom. he repainted the small place he removed the bed liner and put some hardener in the paint. looks much better and no chips at all. now just above the liner I do have a couple.
