Trouble With Passenger Floor Board Brackets

Been trying to mount a set of Pingle passenger floorboard spreaders. The right side was no problem. I have the late model style brackets that use the lower bolt/pin as a slide. The problem is the left bracket seems defective ( like it's slightly misshapen in the slide channel ) and as soon as I have the lower bolt tightened , I can't get the mount to slide down to the lowest position. If I leave the bolt looser than recommended it will slide properly.

Anyone else run into this and if so what was the solution?
