Little Girl cleanup and protection

It was always in my plans to use my 6" waxer/polisher and mothers to "polish" / "clean" the aluminum box on the little trailer today. Figured I'd clean and protect it before I went to Kerrville. Alas ... just because I can't go, doesn't mean the little girl should suffer.

As a side note, the vet told me to take Harley outside and let him get fresh air and some activity. He said that would help to make him stronger. So, I decided to set up his little dog run and let him supervise while I did the little trailer. He loved it. Of course, he pretty much always wants to be with me so that didn't surprise me.

He spent about a half hour barking and "chasing" leaves blowing across the driveway. Of course he can't catch them because he can't get out of the run and the leaves aren't in the run. He was acting like a little puppy again ... did the old heart good ... guessing both of them, his and mine.

Anyway ... I used the 6" polisher and a clean Terry cloth pad and Mother's to polish/clean each of the 5 sides, then wiped it down with a micro fiber towel to get the black stuff off, then a clean micro fiber towel with alcohol to get any residue and finally, because I remembered that using the Mother's on aluminum and not protecting it afterwards would lead to it just corroding again quickly (Thanks Fred), I decided to coat the little trailer with the ceramic wheel protector ... probably overkill ... but, I don't plan on doing this again any time soon.

Total time was about an hour and a half, maybe two ... wasn't clock watching. It's a small trailer. Just as I finished the back panel, the sun started to come really close to the trailer so I put it in the garage for the "12 hour cure time" .... I'll get pics tomorrow ... to be honest, aside from it being a tad shinier, not sure it looks any different ... hope it doesn't blind some poor driver behind me ...

I brought Harley in and he was all excited and actually jumping around. Of course ... before I could get the rags cleaned and hanging out to dry, he was out like a light ... rest will help a lot, but, it was good to see him "play" a little.

Tomorrow I'll get some pics in the sun ... and post them.

That sounds GREAT.......been following your adventures since day one, your a GOOD MAN FUZ, the VERY BEST to you BOTH!
