Default Did I ever tell you----

How much I hate the harley triglide rims, still can't believe harley does not chrome these for the price that we pay. Everytime I ride and when I get home I get the 2 pieces of paper towel and spray with windex and wipe the rims off, can't believe how black the paper towel gets, the rims looks good so to speak but the paper towel shows how much brake dust comes thru, harley should chrome these or have a solid rim which I think I would like and I think other triglide owners would agree on a solid rear rim, maybe not, I know I would.

Yes I know I could buy the enforcer rims, looked at them online and wow, they sure like those for the prices they are getting, not thrilled about the 19" front, online they don't even show a 19" front tire, just the 16" and the 18", so if they don't show a 19" online that tells me it would be hard getting a 19" front tire at a dealer if you are traveling.

Also looked at ebay for the exchange for the triglide rims, which I might just do, talking to dealer to see what he can do, the one I did talk to said something about powder coating, which I might consider also.

I am also looking at the wheel discs on ebay and that would be way cheaper than rims and it would keep the brake dust down also, I know a few on here have the wheel discs and really like them.

James, here are wheel discs that would help with the brake dust.

Think I've mentioned before that I'm ok with the look of the stock wheels. I'm just not pleased with how much effort it takes to clean and how often it takes to keep them looking good.

I love the look of Black Chrome Wheels....So I messaged an eBay Seller in Cali that chromes and resells OEM exchanges as to the cost to Black Chrome a set for Tri Glides. They gave me a cost $125 extra per wheel. So total cost with shipping and taxes would be $1,700+. Haven't checked to see if there are any local plating business that would even be willing to do this, and beat that price.

Right now, any wheel changes are well in the future.

I agree with you, I like the look of the stock just way to much work and it shouldn't be that way if harley did something a little different, thinking of the wheel discs for sure, way cheaper and at least try it anyway

Just get them powder coated any color you want. A cheaper option is to clean them well (Mother's Mag Polish), then ceramic coat them.

As far as 19" wheels/tires, that's what the Freewheeler uses & every tire Mfg. makes them & they are easy to get.

I have a 130/60 19" Avon Cobra Chrome sitting in my bedroom that cost $110 after the rebates.

I did mine with the Mothers Aluminum polish and the "Power Ball" ... then coated them with the McKee's Ceramic wheel sealer.

I've given up on them, riding 15 to 20K a year cleaning rims is not a priority.

I would like to have chrome or possibly powder coat but the cost is out of my budget for the time being.

My next TG will not have aluminum for sure.

The Mothers and Power Ball took about and hour. The ceramic took about 45 minutes .... after that, they get sprayed with the rest of the ride every so often at the wand wash thing and air dried ... not much to get clean rims all the time ...

So you needed two different McKee Ceramic Products, one for painted surfaces and one for wheels? Kind of wonder the chemical differences... Definitely looks Great!

This comes up quite a bit. Powder coated mine {I changed to FreeWheeler rims, just like them better} Two tone {Chrome and Black} application and clean up now with a hose! A TON cheaper than the other options...just my opinion...jcName: Rim DT.jpg

Wow, I just looked at the Mckee's 37 wheel coating, that is high priced for 4 ounces, not saying I won't buy it and try out but wow, might just keep doing what I do now after a ride, grab paper towel and windex and clean the rim, working so far but alas, I'm sure I will get tired of that real soon. Let me ask you this, how long does the wheel coating last???? Do you have to do it every so often or is it just a one time thing, if a one time thing would be nice but I don't think it will last that long, IMHO. And as for going to car wash, not happening with me anyway, I don't do car wash's for bikes, some people ok, it just not for me. Now if caught in the rain and it gets really dirty, then I will wash it in the driveway, just a garden hose and soap.

You don't use much ... I've done the trike wheels and my entire little trailer with it and I'm guessing I have 3 oz left ...

The only issue ... the stuff will crystallize if it's not sealed well.

My rims actually bead water with the stuff. I think they call it hydrophobic or something like that.

Did the rims and the trailer for $41 ... supposed to last two years ... if I get a tear ... I'll be thrilled.

I cant figure out why you guys are having trouble keeping your rides clean.I have three two wheelers and a trike and I have no problem at all. Here's the secret: broke teenagers. That's right. I need clean bikes they need money. I supervise they clean. Life is good. I wonder what the peasant's are doing today?
