Its the last 2 questions that count the most.
4th might be what psi do you run it at.
Truthfully those cracks look like what an old tire over 7 years old that's in the sun gets.
More commonly called dry rot.
Because of all the little stressed looking parts in almost all the pics.
Im saying 99% sure Dry rot......
I've had that happen to 2 of my BT 45's when close to 18,000 miles get on them. Never worried much about it. And I've mounted them normally and in reverse so I don't think either caused them
Always check the Manufacture Date when you purchase new tires. The Date stamp is four digits. Example 1119,
is the eleventh week of 2019
Tire was purchased in April 2018 from Dennis Kirk. I will check the born-on date. Always run 41lb
Mine did the same thing, only the rips were much longer when I discovered them. Mine was about 2 years old, had about 8,000miles on it and was severly cupped.
Local Trike installer gave me 2 reasons for this.
1. I was running underinflated for some time,
2. I was being very aggressive in "tight" corners.
He was right on both counts. I was very aggressive during several trips to Deal's Gap.
Also,as I've stated before, whoever came up with the 41psi in the front tire should have kept quiet!!!!!
Lower that to 36 to 38 for a much smoother ride!

Checked the DOM and is 1416 so the tire was 2 yrs old when ordered.
Got same thing on my BT-45. 17,000 miles on tire & cupped. Ordered new Cobra Chrome yesterday. I'm done with the MPAs & BT45. Had an Avon Cobra before the BT45. Didn't like the BT45 from day one. Rode like iron.
