Infotainment Flash unit

Just got an email about this ... has anyone used it ... I really am hoping that at some point we will be able to take control of flashing our own.

I sent them an email to see what all this thing can do ... might take the Harley dealer out of the loop for one more item ...

Interesting item but just wondering why and how often the infotainment system needs to be flashed. Only time I had to do so was when I installed the CB and H-D said a flash was required but mine (and several others I've seen on various forums) worked just fine without any flash. Go figure.

Now I did install the Auxiliary audio input harness so I could plug my Garmin Road Tech Zumo 590's audio out into the Aux audio in and then get nav prompts from the GPS through my BoomBox. That did require a dealer flash so the BoomBox would recognize Aux as an input source.

I guess if you upgrade speakers, amps, etc., then that would require a flash. But $249 for this item seems a bit much as my dealer did not charge me for the flash . . . and even those that do typically charge $50 from what I've read and heard.

Yeah, I saw that too. Just like a flash tuner, one and done as far as bikes are concerned. IMO this looks like a solution looking for a problem.

I got an email back on the "abilities" of this unit ... basically it will allow our infotainment system to recognize aftermarket speakers and amps ... so yea ... unless you plan on swapping stuff our or "upgrading" ... it's really not worth the money.

Waste of $$ if only good on ONE bike.
