Trike front tire recommendations

I need to replace the front tire on our 09 Goldwing trike. I put a Dunlop D408 on it awhile back, only because we had a trip imminent and it was the only tire I could get quickly and locally. Turns out that trip got rained out, in the meantime I put about 1000 miles on it locally before we recently did our week to Branson from Texas. We took as many smaller roads as we could, including highway 23 up Arkansas, onto the Pig Trail, and then into Branson. By the time we got back to Texas, that Dunlop was cupped so bad it was whining like a wounded opera singer. And feels like you are in the middle of a cattle guard when slowing to a stop.

Research has shown me that most recommendations are for the Bridgestone BT 45 and the Michelin MPA. I had a BT 45 on my bike before it was triked (I was a darksider) and left it on after triking it. It was worn but not worn out, and I got over a years worth of riding on it before deciding to replace it for the 'trip that didn't happen'. It was well worn but never cupped. The triking community seems to be equally split between the BT 45 and the MPA so I am posing that question on this awesome forum.

I have the BT45 in forward rotation on the front. No buzzing, no cupping, no waddling, no cracks,,, will purchase again when needed. It suits me fine....my philosophy is, don’t fix it if it ain’t broke.

I recommend the Avon trike specific tire. They make it for your Goldwing.

Also the Bridgestone 45 has been superseded by the BT 50.
